Hi Bev, my husband and I also received our $500 and still have no letter. Surely the government don't think we are so dumb we would not have noticed the deposit in our account. Think of the postage cost sending a letter to each pensioner.

Also got the letter and noticed although it had the CentreLink address the names of Jenny Macklin and Senator Joe Ludwig were very prominent at the top of the letter. Maybe a bit of free advertising for them. As if the money came from them instead of the taxpayers.

You don't have to get a letter - you can get online notification to your personal Centrelink account. Talk to Centrelink about it - it means you can go to the Centrelink site and log on, and look at your account anytime,and view any letters online.They notify you by email when a new letter is sent, then you just log on and view it.

I am amazed Centrelink do not promote this to seniors more.

Received my letter in the mail today to inform me of the $500, even though it was in my bank last Thursday. AND I am registered to receive my Centrelink mail online. They love to waste our money.
