The easy way to compost

To make it easy to understand what happens with the organic waste collected from green lid bins, the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has released a new 15-minute training video for food waste warriors.

EPA Organics Manager Amanda Kane said the  video is a highly useful introduction to organics recycling for anyone interested in understanding more about what happens to food organics and garden organics (FOGO) when it’s collected at the kerbside.

It draws on content from the EPA’s online Compost Facility Management course, summarising key elements of the process including compost science and processing technologies.

“The video builds on the EPA’s commitment to reduce waste to landfill, decrease emissions from organics, improve compost quality and support a healthy, economically viable organics industry,” Ms Kane said.

Yes Ben I have a worm compost at home in which I put all my fruit and vegetable scraps except onions, garlic and citrus scraps.
