Taxpayers to foot bill for senator’s trip to Nazi rally

Queensland senator Fraser Anning says he expects taxpayers to foot the bill for his flights to attend a neo-Nazi rally in St Kilda.

The independent senator told The New Daily the event represented “official business”.

Senator Anning, who sparked condemnation when he referred to the “final solution” in his maiden speech in Parliament, insisted that recent events in Melbourne were also happening in Queensland and used this to justify his trip.

“It’s official business. I am a Senator. I didn’t go there for a picnic,” Senator Anning said.

“It’s an airfare down and back. There was no accommodation.”

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Deputy Labor leader Tanya Plibersek are among those who have slammed the senator’s attendance at the rally.

Should taxpayers be expected to pay for Fraser Anning’s trip to attend a Nazi rally?

Was it a Nazi rally?

What a two faced buch of bludgers those Canberra boofheads are castigating Fraser Anning about using taxpayer funded air fares.

Most of these grubs have been flying around the world and staying in luxury accomodation for years. And all on the taxpayer dollar.

At least Anning speaks his mind. Not like those other LNP, and ALP sheep who have never spoken the truth in their lives.

Strangely, One Nation has been deathly silent on this matter. Maybe the political bed in Canberra has become to comfortable for them?

If one dares to speak one's mind against mindless immigration then you will be labelled a Nazi or Racist. Our country is going to the dogs by allowing the likes of these troublemakers into Australia. Just check on the countries where they have come from, total chaos with no respect for each other. For example, I'm interested in the numbers that 'The Save The Children' advertise on TV. 18,000 African children every day dying of lack of nourishment that adds up to...6 Million 5  hundred and 70 thousand African children die each year. Do they really spawn so many children each year??

The New Daily manipulates the news shoving its own words into Senator Annings mouth. This is a zio-marxism speaking!

So, true patriots are beinfgcalled now neo-nazis?!!

I cannot believe the transfomartion that is taking place in this beuatiful country of Australia.

How about we all go to Israel and demand the same or behave in the same manner?!

Anyone willing to experiment it?

Notice how the the federal governemnt does nothing about these gangs?

Wht should happen if they are caught (thats a big if) they should be deported back wher they came from. After all it is the Federal governments fault that these grubs are here.

But don't hold your breath for the government to do anything. Or the ALP either.

Yet again confusing state and federal responsibilities.

The state has responsibility for law and order. Complain about the Victorian Government and their head in sand attitude. It is not the fault of the federal government that these criminal thugs - many born here - are getting away with the crimes they do. The Victorian police will not call it what it is, make few arrests then the courts let them go.

If Mr Dutton attempts to rescind visas, the Administrative Tribunal and bleeding heart lawyers with thwart that.

Put the blame where it belongs. With the perpetrators and the Victorian justice system.

I note that Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Deputy Labor leader Tanya Plibersek have slammed the senator’s attendance at the rally, no comment about whether taxpayers should foot the bill. The whole system of paying for politicans attendance anywhere needs a complete overhaul but, sadly, that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. It's politicians who make the rules.

It is scandalous that Anning is planning to hit the taxpayers for the trip to Melbourne: there is no national issue here. His presence only served to fortify the fascist types holding the rally. The parliamentary authorities should decline his application.

Sarah Hanson Young taking her daughter to see the whales at taxpayers expense.  Shouldn't she also be  condemned? Can't recall that it was a national issue!

I suppose you support Tony Burke taking his family to a rock concert in Alice Springs more worthy of taxpayer funding?

Anning should not be  taking money from taxpayers for his attendance at the rally.Money better spent on ailing hospital system.Policiticians flying  overseas  all the time  must be overhauled. Surely they can use the  internet for conferences with  leaders unless   it is for more serious issues like national secirity

Victoria Police and the Victorian government have allowed these Sudanese gangs to run rampant.  Police failing to attend calls for assistance until well after the event and on one occasion actually hiding from the perpetrators. The end result being few if any arrests over the last two years despite frequent, unlawful, threatening and thuggish behaviour by these gangs. Clearly, the police are more concerned about racial sensitivities than maintaining law and order when crimes are committed by ethnic minorities.

However, at a lawful assembly, where there were no assaults on the public, no break-ins, no glassing - indeed no criminal activity, just strong verbal condemnation of the police and Andrews Government (so called Nazi salutes or other expressions may be abhorrent but they are not illegal) the police manage to turn out in huge numbers and arrest 3 people.

Correct. The number of police present would indicate that they are not understaffed.

Well noted Adrianus & Gee Whiz. I don't believe it was advertised as a Neo Nazi rally, simply sensationalises by the filth that are known as journalists. Once again casting their spin to create chaos in the community. Concerned Australians bringing their views on immigration to the disorganised Governments of Australia should not be criticised and labelled Neo Nazi. Is Australia still a democracy ??? I don't know. What about free speech it seems every time somebody says something, somebody else doesn't agree with, the race card comes out, sound familiar. You may not agree with Senator Anning however he was voted in by the Australian people and has the right to voice his opinion, whether you agree with it or not. At least you know where he stands, unlike 99% of other politicians who will lie and change their views daily to further feather their own nests, not to mention knifing their leaders in the back, their leaders who were voted in by the Australian public. As for other politicians complaining about his travel expenses, a return airfare that's all,  no overnight stay, no big lunch on the taxpayer, no taking the family on a jaunt to Luna Park, how unlike a politician. I think he's in the wrong business. Perhaps other politicians, once again 99% of them could learn a lesson on not wroughting the system. How do they sleep at night. In a big cushy bed at the Hilton with room service and probably a mistress, toy boy or sugar babe, that's how. I could get a bit gritty however I be called a racist so have a good day cheers Jacka

Well said/wrote Jacka

Senator Anning was voted in on 19 first preference votes.  Hardly 'the Australian people'.  However I take your point, that's the way the system works, and he does have a right to his own opinion, as do we all.

On this one I'll refrain, except to say maybe it's past time to take a good hard look at 'the system'.

The Rally was Called and attended by concerned Citizens that have had enough of being left in the cold by the Police, State government and the Federal government... Left to be Robbed, Mugged, Cars Stolen, Houses Broken into etc. And the best the Police Chief can say is,,, Quote, 'Do not resist, Let them have what they want'... What sort of message is that telling the perpetrators of these crimes, Its OK to be a Criminal, a Thug, a Rapist, a Car Jacker, a House Breaker... Where are our securities, they will still assault you and put you and you family in hospital. This is Australia not some backward 3rd world country..

The only Nazi's at the rally were the Far Left antifa thugs, They were kept away from the rally by police thank goodness, other wise the concerned citizens would of copped the blame for the violence antifa would have inflicted on them.... I as an Australian citizen am tired of the far left bias media and the falsehoods they continually report as news, FAKE NEWS... The reporters attitude to Senator Fraser Annings interview was disgusting and disrespectful, but that is what you expect from todays far left bias media..

The sooner more Australians awaken to what the government and media are doing to Australia and stop voting for Liberal, Labour and Greens, the better. Australia used to be such a beautiful country where people loved to visit and praise the people for their friendliness and hospitality but now many feel unsafe visiting certain cities because of the 3rd world mentality within certain refugee communities.

This is not just a Victorian problem, it is spreading to other states including Qld.

Well said Roo Walk. The governments of this once great country have been infiltrated by fasists and hard left social destroyers.

There has only been two partries over the last thirty years that have been in federal governmen. The ALP socialists and the LNP fluffy ducks.

So who are you going to blame for the fall of Australia?

Get rid of these shameful traitors at the newxt election.

Sudanese are 33 times more likely to be on charges for crimes than the Australian born population.

Have we not got a right to be concerned with what's coming into the country, first Isis terrorism now this.

If the politicians allowed the  police to do their jobs then this wouldn't be an issue.

Give him credit for declaring the trip. It was business and not whale watching with his daughter nor attendance of the cricket, races AFL finals etc at the taxpayers expense. Kudos for standing up and representing the concerns of many ordinary Australians. That's what theyre elected to do.

To those who dont believe in free speech, don't believe that this country is going to the dogs, (  no offence to dogs; theyre loyal animals ) and the right to protest on issues being swept under the carpet, then North Korea awaits you.

Well they were mimicking the nazi salute and walk which is shocking. We should never forget the millions of Jews murdered by Nazis in WW2. How can anyone condone this? A politician attending such an event is disgraceful! It is about far more than money. On Facebook there are groups who try to influence others with far right, inhumane views, and are connected to neonaziism.

It is unAustralian and unacceptable to anyone with a moral compass.

Fraser Anning attended the demonstration which was about African gang violence.  He is not responsible for others who may have been there. No one is condoning mass murder, but they do have a right to their views - it's called free speech and assembly - whether you agree with them or not.  Offending people is not illegal ... yet.

Interesting that you believe the so called Nazi's at the meeting are inhumane and racist, but you fail to express any concern about anti-white racism exhibited by the police who refuse to apply the law to Sudanese gangs.  One can well imagine if the same offences committed by the Sudanese gangs had been perpetrated by 'white' neo-nazi's or bikies.  The police response would have been immediate with mass arrests.  This is why people are angry.

The law should be based on the criminal offence itself, not the ethnicity of the offender.

As a Victorian who is fed up with what is happening, I agree with those who say enough is enough. Anning has offered to pay for his trip. Time will tell whether he is a Nazi sympathiser, and at this point maybe the benefit of the doubt is all we have to go on.

Living in a same street with a known pedophile doesn't make you a pedophile. If neo nazi sympathisers use the event to push their agenda which differs to the intended purpose, being concerns for citizens' safety, then the balance cannot be held responsible.
