Supermarket shoppers divided over new Coles product

Online debate is raging about Coles’ new panko crumbed chicken doughnuts after a photo of the treats was posted to Reddit.

For what its worth, Coles says the chicken doughnuts are designed to be cooked in just a few minutes in an air fryer.

“These are designed for quick air frying,” one user pointed out.

“It maximises surface-area-to-volume ratio while still making a patty-like shape (e.g. for burgers) that doubles as a big chicken nugget. This is actually really clever food engineering.”

Coles senior category manager Daniel Slavin says the product was intended for kids.

“[They] were developed to help provide a family-focused meal solution for even the fussiest of little eaters,” he said.

“The hollow circle format is a familiar concept for customers (calamari, doughnuts) and provides more of a crunch when eating which has clearly appealed to customers.

What do you think? Would you give the chicken doughnut a go?

Shame on you Coles copying this from

Trixie Denta Fun Chicken Chewing Ring (10cm) - for Dogs - HugglePets

No debate here .Just another useless way to make money

same as bring out Hot Cross Buns straight after Christmas - people buy them - they wouldn't do it if people didn't buy them..same thing here.

Whoever put it up online should receive a bonus from Coles - I would never have seen it ( along with many others) except for the 'great debate" - although still not going to try it!
