hi just thought i'd let you all know that i found a brilliant way to clean my stainless steel oven shelves .what a yuk job? no, i soaked the shelves and the brackets in the laundry soaker available in a blue plastic container from aldi .fill your laundry trough with very hot water and add some soaker and leave overnight .next morning wipe,not scrub, off the gunk, mine hadn't been done for an astounding 3 years and now they look brand new again. also good for stainless steel cutlerty, the stove top and i've even used it in the loo and it's a clean as new too. not for aluminium tho as it makes it darken .anything stainless steel .i also fill the sink with hot water and drop any dirty and greasy dishes into it and then after an hour or so i rinse them in hot water and drain them to dry. no more using the dishwasher so i save on dish detergent ,not cheap for dishwashers and also saving on water .if there's nothing greasy in amongst the dishes you can use it all day if you like ....suanne

Hi Suanne, since there is no Aldi's over here in the Wonderful West, could you give me an idea as to what the soaker is? is it the equivalent to say Napisan or we can get another one called "Sard Wonder', sounds so easy, someone else on here mentioned that carb soda was good for that as well, I don't use my oven for roasting in much, but we have had our daughter stay for a few months and she mostly uses the oven so now needs a good clean instead of just a wipe out, hence my interest. Cheers

Deanna,You can use Sard wonder or a product called supreme soaker its a stain remover you can get it from the reject shop if you have those shops over there if not use sard.Wobbly

Thanks Wobbly, yes we do have the reject shops over here, didn't know they actually sold that kind of thing, I use Sard so will give that a try.

Supreme soaker is half the price of Sard at the reject shops Deanna ,It is packaged almost identically and does exactly the same job Wobbly
