A: Nikola Tesla ... a multiple exposure picture of Tesla sitting next to his "magnifying transmitter" generating millions of volts.

His message on the bottom of the photo (as I've seen before here).

Q: This cameo was retrieved from the wreck of which famous sailing ship?

Sailing ship? That one that was raised from the ocean bout a decade ago. Was it the Mary Rose?

No, sorry Richie.

Wrecked much closer to home and notorious for the murderous behaviour of some of the survivors.

Thanks for the link to that interesting bit of history Bijou

That's correct Bijou. Your turn now.

Thank you.

Q. Ancient artifact from which country and what was it used for?

Fascinating image of Tesla.

Agree!!

RnR I saw a doco about the murder of the survivors of the Batavia. One man who reckoned he was god was responsible.

To hold body parts?   No idea from which civilisation.

Northern Europe, probably Scandinavian and burial.  Copper, amber are likely.  It all fits into the jar.  A rich dead person.

Is this it?

Heh, heh, very clever, you win.  Next?

:) You'll have to wait a little while LJ ... have to go out now. Back later in the afternoon.

Answer not complete RnR. The place is correct i.e. Horsens in Denmark. Both items are from the Funnel Beaker Culture which existed about 3,800 BC. The artifacts were buried with the dead.

The dead were buried in individual graves, not in the jar. This civilisation buried their dead with a beaker full of liquid to ease the journey to the next life. There is evidence of beer and mead within some of these jars. Good try!

Bijou silly me to suggest body parts. Could hold ashes tho.

So is it RnR to take next turn?

Of course!

Your turn RnR.

Thanks Richie and Bijou.

An easier one this time (I hope LOL).

CLUE:

Which very famous building has bees as a design theme?

HOTA Outdoor Stage, Gold Coast :)

Same as insect wings, tortoise shell too.  Yay for Queensland, even if the answer is wrong.

What an amazing structure LJ,  as I'm a Gold Coaster BUT ...

the building in question is a little older LOL.

Ancient Irish dwelling?

Or the Honey Bee Hive house in Israel

Sorry Kiah, what an interesting design.

Sorry Abe. Wow ... an incredible building.

CLUE 1: Which very famous building has bees as a design theme?
CLUE 2: The bees are inside the building.

Can only think of Eureka Tower.  Another clue maybe? :)

The Hive at Kew Gardens?

Wolfgang Buttress's Hive at Kew Gardens

Its 170,000 pieces of aluminium, suspended from the ground, appear as a twisting swarm of bees from afar, but as you come closer it becomes a hive-like structure of latticework whose low humming sound and hundreds of flickering LED lights draws you in to a multi-sensory instillation. The intensity of sound and light is controlled by the vibrations of honeybees in an actual hive at Kew that is connected to the sculpture.

Many thanks Kiah. What an intriguing work.

It is RnR, an awesome experience. Thanks for putting up the info.

CLUE 2: The bees are inside the building.

Yes LJ, the famous Barberini bees of St Peter's Basilica.

Sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini was only 25 years old when Pope Urban VIII commissioned him to fashion the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica. Pope Urban VIII was born Maffeo Barberini in April 1568. The Barberini coat of arms features three bees.

Details of the Bernini's baldacchino supporting columns featuring bees and the basement plinths each adorned with the Barberini coat of arms and Saint Peter’s keys topped by the the papal crown.

:) Good on you. Your turn now.

Sorry Gypsy and Kiah.

RnR,

You come up with the most intriguing so I will pass the ball back to you if you don't mind.

:)

No way ... you're it ... you have the floor ... no rush.

I'm sure a curious mind like yours will come up with a clue, quote, image or 'something' that will have us all guessing.

Gypsy, those bees at the Eureka Tower are very striking. Thanks for coming up with them, I never knew.

You are most welcome.  It is something a bit different for Oz! :)

Better than an obsession with scarab beetles and horseflies that is for sure.

I love those bees, would love to visit the Eureka Building.
