SO clever!!

We have two Oriental Cats we love to pieces!
Our little girl fetches just as well as any dog!

But how clever is this? Peter weighed himself this morn. then picked one
furry up to weigh it and then the other, as is supposed to be done to gauge
weight for medication, then firstly Espresso Black Oriental jumped on the
scale and just sat there to be weighed and when he jumped off Vienna Chocolate
Oriental jumped on and dutifully sat down waiting her turn to be weighed.
I know it is bad manners to skite but I still am lol.
Pets are wonderful and sometimes nicer than humans :)
Going to enjoy the most beautiful Sunday - sun shining
Have a lovely Sunday folks.
Phyl.

Thank you Phy and the same to you and your cats and Husband of course

Of course, cats can be as smart as dogs, you just have to start when they are kittens. At my age, I've chosen not to have a cat any more - they seem to live for about 17 or 18 years in my household. Most of my dogs have lived for about 14 years. I guess that's what I have left. Would hate to leave anyone behind.

You are a true animal lover Bev

Animals are a joy,we live as one of very few houses left ,on farmland fast being made into Industrial Area. On our small pocket ,we still have kangaroos who bring their new joeys to see us near the house. Also Heckle & Jeckle the Magpies who greet us with a song, George the tame Kookaburra who was around for over 10 years we are told, used to eat out of our hand & pinch the meat off the B.B.Q.He has now disappeared ,along with a lot of the bird life,

I worry as to what will happen when we hav to shift on in the next couple of years. There isnt much Nature left in the face of progress. Oh well, we enjoy it while we can .Love your animals & they will love you. Have a good day.

Pasted from the Political post.....

Loved your post Innes....

We only have good friends who at least like animals.

We have always had a Siamese or two and when our last one passed away we

said we would not have anymore cats but we missed a cat SO badly we relented

and bought our two Orientals - One is jet black with a coat like satin and the other

is solid chocolate also with a coat like satin.

These two have Peter and I wrapped around their paws and strange that ours

do not eat with a knife or fork either! but still highly intelligent as you well know

cats are...:)

These two cost us $300 (not too bad) but they were extremely sick when we

got them and in fact the Vet. said "put them to sleep" but we battled on

and really devastated for the poor little darlings and for us, with the Vet. bills

as they went on for quite some time. Anyway we saved both their lives and

they are worth every cent we forked out.

All the best.

I cannot help but like you and your wife because you love animals.

Phyl.

Goodness gracious Clay. For someone I used to think was such a

nice bloke and then to someone I did not like much, you are sounding

o.k. again.

I must be mellowing or are you not too bad underneath?

Sorry

Phyl.

Elsie we used to feed two Kookas. by hand in Loch Sport for some years and

all of a sudden one disappeared then the other and we were also very sad - they

started to look a bit tatty so probably old age.

Arn't the Joeys adorable hopping out and into Mum's pouch.

We actually had a part of the farm we used to have kids and bus loads

of people come look at, at Meeniyan when we had our Emu Farm and we

bought 5 Kangaroos from Gumbya Park which we had a licence for,

and they brought us heaps of fun and joy - of course we had very high

fences for the Emus so it worked for the 'roos also.

Animals enrich our lives that's for sure.

I have not changed Phyl but you did get upset when I disagreed with you on a matter and took the idiot who made the comment to task..........Forums can be exciting places to visit but watch out for rogues .........

.......................

Phyl,

You may like Clay now, but be wary of that 'underneath' bit...

oooaaa daarrling (in the words of Jeanie Little) Mara did you say that?

then again could be my mind hey? Could be his feets. :) underneef

his soxes.

Phyl. the dill

Phyl, How lucky are you? To have an Emu Farm & Joeys etc. I have never been to Loch Sport, but it is so close to one of my favourite places, Lakes Entrance. I am jealous. We don't have these pleasures in the City suburbs, although I used to hand feed a kooka he disappeared one day, to be replaced by a crow who mimicked him of a morning to get the food. We still have a dozen or so Rainbow Lorakeets that we feed apple & honeyed bread twice a day. To BevG. Dont let your age stop you from having a cat. Get one & organise it so that if anything happens to you, if someone will let me know, I will come & get it & look after it for you.

Innes, that's a very kind thought. Some cats are quite friendly, but I've had a couple in my lifetime who would only allow me to be the one to care for them. One I left in board during a hospital stay and he pined for me and wouldn't eat. Bounced right back when I came out of hospital though. It must be some sort of personal bonding thing.

BevG. I do appreciate the problem, but boarding is not the same as a home. The offer stands if you decide to avail yourself of it. Look after yourself.

Innes we loved Loch Sport but no facilities there so we have moved to

The Valley (I could start singing at this point the Valley of love oh oh oh ) lol

and we are having fun shopping but I am a hoarder and a bargain hunter

and gradually have just bought too many of heaps of rather useless things lol

stopped now and taking one day at a time but we have missed shops SO much

and junk mail isn't that wonderful????We have not had junk mail for SO long oh

and we have not had a mail box at our front either for yonks just a Post Office Box.

Life is fantastic every day. But feeling a bit faint today and the walk to the shops

seemed longer :) Peter and I have something but not sure if anyone else has it?

Phyl.
