The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a recall for different models of the Westinghouse black tempered glass gas cooktop that was manufactured by Electrolux Home Products.

The cooktop has been recalled due to the potential for the glass to shatter.

The recall includes both the 60cm, three burner and 90cm five burner units.

The affected model numbers are WHG638BC - PNC: 943254149, WHG958BC - PNC: 943254153, with serial numbers ranging from 5301134 to 22503805.  Other identifying numbers on the device include AGA 8145G.

The range was sold in major retail outlets including Harvey Norman, JB Hi Fi, The Good Guys, Reece Plumbing and Winning Appliances.
