Royal Wedding Coverage

Here the native drums are beating that there were vast differences in the quality of the coverage of the event.

Apart from being very sorry I missed the extensive coverage of a rather tidy bottom and also, but much less so, Dame Edna's shot at Tracey Grimshaw, "What about your wedding dress dear" (or similar), I am interested to hear that Channel 9's presentation, Dame Edna coupled with the truly boring Tracey and Ita, was so awful.

With all of the support and details available for this event, it is surprising that any channel could have muffed it so badly to become one of the big discussion items the day after.

For those who can compare the offerings, was it just that Channel 9 was trying to make light of it or were the presenters really so unprepared and woeful?

Time for a changing of the guard at Channel 9 maybe?

I did switch on to ch 9 at first, but found the comments at first rather puerile. When Humphries came on, he said a few funny things, but I found myself drifting to the ABC, which stayed on the BBC feed, and I found it much more pleasant, and stayed with them for the rest of the event. Much more pleasant.

And I might add here, it was a pleasure to hear the English language spoken as it should be.

I suspect that most of our media people are Republicans anyway, and that in my opinion, would prevent them from reporting on such an event with the full respect and dignity it deserved.

I'm very pleased that the Chaser was banned.
