In this day of people falling over themselves to be politically correct, it is perhaps time to think about how to be grammatically correct.

Accordingly, at no cost, I have edited the grammar of today's recipe.

It should be "If you’re hitting the road, going for a picnic or even a day at the races, this pastry-free torte will be a favourite among the whole family and friends!"

I hope it doesn't draw the usual sniping comments so many other topics endure.
