Replacement program alternative to Google Maps

Can anyone suggest a program that replaces Google Maps, and Google Earth, the current program has been "updated & improved" and is so very difficult to find where I want to go to.  Thanks.

Do you want to travel in Aussie or else where ?

Hi PlanB,

Mainly I want to navigate around Brisbane streets, but occasionally elsewhere in Australia.  with the old google map program I could type in the street address, and a pucture of the shop/building or whatever would come up on my screen, then I could also ask for driving directions.  I would like to know if there is another program that would do this type of searching. Thank you for your interest.

No worries BJ You can also use the NRMA site, you can click on any place on the map to zoom in

I must have a look at the Google Eath one it was fine last time I looked

BJ I just checked Google earth and it is fine my end, nothing has changed.

If you want to see the shop or buliding try Googling the address and sometimes --most times it will bring up a Google map where you can "walk"down the stree and see the building

Yes

On my map there is a little yellow figurine that you bring to the spot and it then reveals the buildings.

Yes that has been there for a long time, I don't know in what way BJ's has changed?

Hi PlanB, & Abby, Many thanks for your advices, I checked out the nrma web site but got a message which said "Diagnose connection problems", and Google Earth is a program which has to be downloaded onto my pc, but I have to have Google Chrome installed to do this.  With the new google maps program there is a completely new web site appears, the new version is called "Life Mode", the instructions say to click on google maps, open google maps on my computer, in the top left hand corner click the main menu, and there should be a box on the bottom left with a lightning bolt which denotes this new "Life Mode", which I do not like, and cannot seem to navigate my way around it like the old google maps program.  I will keep looking, but thank you all for your comments and advices. BJ.

BJ I am using Firefox and got Google earth fine, hope you can get some way to use, I have aways refused Chrome
