OMG - just watched that ridiculous show - only two of the men have a backbone, with Shawn being the absolute star as opposed to that low life Andrew and his dishonest male 'friends'.  I know it's a crap show but it's got me hooked!!!

DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE CAN WATCH THAT 'MARRIED SHOW'     TOTAL RUBBISH,  IN MY BOOK,    BUT,   SAYING THAT,    I CANT MISS [CELEBRITY,    GET ME OTTA HERE]   LOVE THAT SHOW,    SO THAT SAYS A LOT FOR MY INTELIGENCE,LOL,LOL,

Never have watched this show... Just doesn't interest me.

I don't think watching crappy shows means anything in relation to intelligence - I think it's ok to just 'be', to chill and switch off from life's demands.

I think they are all mind numbing shows to be quite honest and as we know they only exist to make money for the companies that sponsor them.

That said I do flick through them after taping them and am very glad I do not waste an hour or an hour and a half of my time.... in some case.......... watching them direct.

How on earth those advertisements are allowed to go for so long beats me.  Even flicking through I can see there are heaps of them.

I agree with you Cindy Lou....sometimes you just like to watch something that is frivolous.

Yes, Sean is the only decent male there...he stuck his head out and all the other guys were gutless and did not back him up.

Sad that the distance problem will probably break up their relationship;  but it will not be the only one that has had to crash because of this.

Once again in last night's insipid offering the self-centred Cheryl rabbited on endlessly in public about 'Andrew not having her back'. To me this smacks of someone being fixated and really insecure. Was she incapable of thrashing this out with Andrew well away from everyone? This only highlights her childishness, probably caused by her over-protective arrogant PIG of a father.

Then to completely flummox me she said she 'didnt want to play the victim' Oh really? another example of her kumquat IQ. I have really grown to dislike this most pretentious person.

I'm guessing that dimwit cowboy knew what a $hit-storm he would unleash but went ahead anyway and interfered in the farce that was Andrew and Cheryl's relationship by dobbing him in-- Or was it contrived by the self-proclaimed 'experts' to stir the pot?

In the promo for next show apparently each couple has a meeting with the 'experts' away from the others, which I believe should have been done previously. I mean who could truthfully reveal all about a new partner in front of a room full of strangers?

I repeat this pathetic offering has been designed to fail

..... still will be on again 2018 !  Ratings are huge - no failure there! What the advertisers want ............   :-)

(wonders why people seem to be too embarrassed to say what they watch on TV?)     No ones business huh???  lol

Well - after flipping thru' and half watching the series - although some I did watch for the whole 1 1/2 hours (minus ads. of course) lol - what is even more super ridiculous is this:-

...the "promo's" that they are continually showing for the big finale' on Sunday night .......the wanky "pretend crocodile tears" - especially from Jesse and the "twin" ...is so "fake".....but then the whole show was - so nothng new there I guess?

Just these "fake" cry-baby promo's are bizarre to say the least!

Well only a couple of shows left now - tonight's should be "interesting" ........... still very surprised that Jesse and the "twin" - (can never remember her name?)   Are still deciding to "stay" together?

She is far superior in so many ways .........thought she would have "left" by now .....?

He's a whimp and trying to "hang on" to the best most attractive "chickie babe"  he ever had or come across in his lifetime - lol - just my opinion ........

i think Susan and the "cowboy" Shane are a really delightful couple .....hope they can sort out the "miles" between W.A. and Qld. !!!

Actually - most of them - are paired together from different States?  Wonder why these so called "wishy washy" experts decided to do that?

I read today that Sean is sick of working for the mines and is trying to get work as an actor or stuntman. The story described him as single. Don't know if the show is in real time? If not, perhaps they didn't stay together. I think Michelle will ditch Jesse as soon as the show is over - she's obviously not into him.

agree with your snopsis Foxy.   These shows only exist to make heaps of money (and we all know that) and the producers play around and edit the footage to make sure they keep people watching.

Jesse and his twin (cannot remember her name either) should call it a day...they are not suited at all.

Glad to see the back of Cheryl and Andrew and that phrase (having my back)...if I hear it one more time I will scream!!

Maybe Sean and Susan will find a way to stay together....they seem the most genuine of all.

Whatever happens the winners out of all this are the advertisers and Channel 9...they could not give a tinkers cuss about any of the participants (in my opinion).

I think all the contestants weren't matched very well. All the men seem to be wimps and the women are career girls. I cannot see any of them leaving their comfort zones for the sake of love.

You do not have to watch the show ...everytime you turn on any of the channel 9 channels, they are showing excerpts from the show in between the infomercials.... wonder if it is only the people in the country that get this or do the people from the city get it also ?

Wel according to todays paper - the ratings for this show are over 1 mill per night?

Same approx. as MKR ...........

Don't care about anything, SURVIVOR is back!

lol - Australian one??

Unfortunatley no, but it is always fun to watch Americans tearing each other apart for the common persons entertainment.  This show demonstrates just how close we are to reverting to tribalism and savagry, really great.  All it takes is a bit of money.

Well .....what a total "prawn" that Anthony is ..... lol ..... what an awkward "date" he and Nadia went on!  Still for the life of me cannot understand why Michelle and Jesse still keep saying "Stay" - but at this stage of the show - they have to push up the "ratings" no doubt.

Also the pair that went parachute jumping - ??? (Andrew and  ....... ?)

Only realised as the show progressed - that the majotiy of them that are "paired" up are both from different States?  The "twins" from W.A. - are with -  Jesse from S.A. - and Nick from Melb.

Susan (W.A.) - Sean (Farmer from Qld.)

Anthony (N.S.W.) - Nadia  (Qld.)

Andrew (ex. Iraq guy) and his "partner" - keep talking about "long-distance relationships" ? Not sure what States they are from?

Simon and Alenie - Not sure where they are from?

Only a couple more nights left ....    :-)

This different state thing has annoyed me big time.  Regardless that this show is very commercial, the participants are real people - how cruel to match people up ignoring their home base.  It's almost sicko on the part of the "experts" - creating a problem for people before they even meet.  Some contestants have said they were willing to travel but really, same state would be reasonable not opposite sides of the country !

I'm on a bit of a "roll" here ... but in regard to,last nights tv show, I found Anthony's buying of a dress for Nadia off putting - odd ?

CindyLou, what's the problem, after all it's the man that has to look at it all day. LOL

I would never presume to buy my wife a dress, too much of a minefield size wise.  But I do selectand  buy most of her jewelry.

I did too CindyLou. I wonder if he'll accept "goodbye" when she gets rid of him or will he stalk, harass, hassle her. He's bad news! I would run a mile from a guy like him and think it's a little strange that she has put up with him. Even find his looks spooky!

Hey, maybe they match them up from different States to make it hard for them to hassle each other if it goes bad?

lol lol lol - that's funny Robi!   You could have a point tho'    :-)

CindyLou ... yeah you are right regarding the "experts" creating a "problem" before there even is one!   lol lol ......

You'd have to be pretty damn sure of your feelings etc. etc. prior to giving up your own personal lifestyle to move to another State - especially someone you have only known a few weeks!?

However - they have kinda been "thrown together" into various situations - the dinner parties are rather "telling" re people's true personalities.... lol

The producers of this show are having a 'lend' of us.

Sean's farm is "15 minutes drive" outside Maryborough.   Hardly any distance at all.

People live in Perth suburbs further than this.

I would be quite happy to live on his farm.

Read about Maryborough

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryborough,_Queensland

.... we knew that in one of the prior shows?  He took her out into Maryborough to a cafe' for lunch - remember?

The point is - she would have to leave her job/friends/family in W.A. and move to Qld. right?  She would be totally dependent on him until she made her "own" friends ...... and she would be "isolated" from her particular lifestyle .......for who knows how long?

If I met the man of my dreams I would live wherever he did (and I have done this).

My girlfiend in the UK (on a working holiday) met her husband there and Kent has been her home for the last 40 years and there are heaps of people who have gone to live on the other side of the world "for luv".

Maybe the youngsters today are too clingy...you have to leave the family nest one day and you can make new friends.....(.and family is not around for ever).  It is not that hard to catch a plane and see your parents/friends every now and then.

I would run as fast as I could away from Anthony...he is a classic "control freak".

Can see exactly why his past relationships have failed.!!

Nadia is weak and too wishy washy for me!

I quite like Adene or whatever her name is....I think they make a nice couple actually and he has come out of his shell and showing his funny side!

Yessss !  They are kinda "cutesie"  together (for want of a better word!)  Simon and Alene'/Adene is it???

I also like Susan and Sean ..... wonder if she will move?  Said last night she "loves him dearly".... interesting ....... they suite each other - but - was surprised whe he "dropped it" into the show recently that he had "children"?  Wonder what ages and how many?

Maybe they don't live with him?  Didn't see any on the 'homestay" visit .......

 - should be good tonight re Anthony & Nadia!!   Promo's are showing her "swear" at him and his "spooky eyes" almost popping outta his head!   lol lol

That Andrew (ex. Iraq) is a "weirdo" also IMO ......... can hardly put two words together    :-)

It was said at the beginning that he has 2 kids who live near him and shared access. That (and probably the horses) is why he is unwilling to move.

Agree Radish that Anthony appears to be a classic "control freak".  That's why I posted my bad vibes re him buying a dress for his partner.  Jewellery etc is a nice thoughtful gift (doesnt have to be expensive) -  but clothing, no way...

:) Thanks all ... I have never watched Married at First Sight.

The critiques on here are so good and so timely I never feel the need to actually watch the so-called reality of it all.

LOL ... you all do a brilliant job.

I watched the final show Bride and Prejudice. It was so sad watching the two Gay guys getting married in the USA. The Aussie guy bought tickets for his parents to fly to America to attend their wedding, but the parents didn't show up. The mother sent a message to say she and his father didn't approve of the wedding, because they were Gay. The parents are Jehovahs Witness's. She said they still love him, but I believe if you really do love your children, no matter what, your duty would be to stand beside your child to show how much you do love them.

The father was not Jehova's Witness, only the mother. The father was just out and out homophobic, non-accepting of anything bar heterosexuality.

Yes that was very sad and also how the religious parents of one of the lesbians refused to go to her wedding. I don't know how anyone could put religion or homophobic beliefs before the love of a child. Religion has so much to answer for!

Agree's 100% with Robi!

Do we know yet that the parents did not show up? I still have one episode "recorded" and not managed to catch up with it yet?  I was seriously hoping that the parents did turn up - please don't tell me til I watch it! lol   :(

Was it the "final" show?   Hmmm ........ not sure ..............

SBS is also getting in on the action of reality TV, recently casting for a new program called Undressed.

The social experiment is based on psychological research which suggests an attraction between two people can be be accelerated by making them ask each other increasingly intimate questions.

"Are you ready to let go of all of the inhibitions that might stand in the way of finding your soul mate," the SBS ad teases. "Are you brave enough to undress down to your underwear in front of someone you have only just met."

Yeah -  this is the Second series that they want people for - it has been on this year!  Jan/Feb.  (I actually put it in my heading of this Topic)  It is cringy - embarrassing and totally over the top!

Worst thing is this - ok - I have never ever seen so many people who are willing to "bare" their bodies with all the nasty "pimples" they have?  Arggghhh it is revolting!

Oh - and you'd think - being on National TV - they would choose some pretty fancy/trendy underwear?  Not so!   lol lol ......... even the women do not have "sexy" underwear?   Over it!    :-)

Never seen this program nor bride and prejudice.

I only watch some shows, others such as Sullivan's, home and away - I've never ever viewed - I wouldn't recognize the actors if the were standing in front of me.

Saw a new show (well I think it's new) - promoted on tv, "the last resort"

For couples who are on the verge of breakdown - was only a brief promotion , looks like they are on an island ???  Together, all broken relationships folk - sharing with the group their relationship dramas...there were children also filmed as part of the promo.

Here we go again.

Yeah - lol lol -  there is also "Dating Naked"  Chn. 11 -  it is also a cringer! (Used to be on SBS last year)   Doesn't leave a lot to the imagination trust me!    lol lol

Also saw this one advertized ... cannot remember whether it was 7 or 9

As I said they are getting like infommercials.

Getting beyond the pale.  Every show is trying to top the opposition to see how far they can go.

I thought we had a censorship board or something that monitored bad taste.  Obviously it is open slather these days.

I am not interested in watching any of the progams just mentioned...I at least want to see people with their "parts" covered.

Newcomers to this country must be watching TV with open mouths at what is allowable on TV and radio here in Australia.  I am ashamed at some of the content that is being promoted..call me old fashioned but that is how I feel.

Agree re "parts covered"...I don't think it's old fashioned to be respectful and modest.
