Rapper’s US presidential campaign ad as bad as you’d expect

As much as we shake our heads at Australian politics sometimes, at least we don’t have the host of a reality TV show running our country.

Nor have we had to tolerate the celebrities aiming for the highest position in the land.

In the confusing way of US politics, rapper Kanye West is sort of in the race for president, even though his name won’t appear on most ballot papers and he launched his presidential campaign ad this week.

When he shared the video on Twitter to his nearly 40 million followers it took off, receiving more than one million views in the first hour, 20,000 retweets and 50,000 likes.

Watch the video here:

While West has next to no chance of winning the election, many suspect he is running his campaign to appeal to black voters and take them away from Joe Biden and aid the Donald Trump campaign.

The ad is clearly aimed at black voters so it is easy to understand why this link is being made?

What do you think of the US presidential race? Who do you think will win?

I just shake my head in amazement,  what the hell has the planet come to!

It makes you wonder, "Who wrote his speech?" Whenever I've seen him he can't put two words together to make sense.

Oh dear, oh dear ... Kanye's struggle with mental health is well documented.

Hope he receives and accepts the treatment he needs.

As for Trump's mental health ... what can you say.

And Jo biden, he seems to keep forgetting things and Trump reckons Jo has dementia.

What a poor choice of candidates for the American people.

Yes RnR makes one wonder why these are the only ones to be able to stand to run this darn country --the USA for heaven's sake -- it has turned to absolute madness

Unfortunately a presidential candidate needs mega millions of dollars which stops people who would make good presidents from running.

Yes, Triss, that's right they have to be multi-millionaires to stand for the presidency -- --why is that???

It must be all about the ego as who the hell would want the job unless you were a psychopath?

"Who do you think will win?" not that dickhead that's for sure.

Canman,  I do not know but between the 3 of these creeps, there is not a lot to choose from.

I think narcissistic Trump appeals to narcissistic Americans - people who either believe their country is the greatest on earth or think it was the greatest and needs to be returned to such delusional status. Meanwhile, I think many in the world beyond USA, like me, are sitting back thinking "that place has gone nuts, is sick, is full of insanity hero worshipping a total nutcase of a leader. I hope he doesn't win but I fear he will. The only way my respect will be restored for the USA is if good, sane, clear thinking people vote Trump out in a landslide.
