There you are Foxy, Drew did put a Topic about Prince. It is in the main header topics. Investigations are continuing into his death.

He wrote the song "Nothing compares 2 you" and sung it.

But Sinead OConnor's version was far, far, far superior.

Don't know much more about him.

Thanks for putting that up Monika. I am a huge Sinead O'Connor fan, just adore the emotiveness in her music and voice. Love that song but then I love all her songs. Never knew Prince wrote that one. He certainly had talent but I have never been greatly drawn to his music and until I read a few articles about him recently I knew little about him too. Was interested to read that he was a conservative Jehova's Witness and was thus homophobic (Old Testament stuff).

Not a great fan of Prince...however...he is no doubt a musical genius and some of the songs he wrote for other artistes are just beautiful..

I loved Dami Im's version of Prince's song "Purple Rain" which she sang on X Factor...have a listen and many will be impressed by this young Australian from North Korea. She is representing us at the Eurovision song contest soon...

Never new of Prince except for some of my young friends that loved him, I see there is a bit of mystery regarding his death as he had sppoken out about conspirisy

I just saw a news snippet from the U.S.A. They spoke about Prince's humanitarian deeds. He was always interested to know about families that were going through hard times and would do something about it. He never wanted anyone to know that he had helped them. A very private person and they said he only did the singing gigs so he could get more money to help people. He suffered great pain and needed to have both hip replacements and used to walk with a walking stick when nobody was around. I never cared for his music but was blown away with his musicianship. His father was a Jazz player, so it was in the genes. RIP great man.

Amazing HOLA what you told me then, if this is true and I am sure it is, he was a wonderful young man, and so very young to have had hip replacements.

Good to read he was not into drugs / drinking etc either.

My Son is a Muso and he said Prince was a wonderful tallented person
