Innes, I think your political thread became full too full of personalities, that is why I think we could be well advised to throw our weight behind an Independant, as I said , if personal preferences are put aside we could become a strong voice in the future. Jaxx

You make a good point jaxx, but, you can't have any political

movement, without a strong personality. You can't have a true

independant represent us, because, if he was independant,

he would not get an Upper House Seat & if he represented us,

he would not be independant. If you look at the facts of Political

life. There are 3 catagories :- You either love them, or hate them

or the third alternative is that they don't exist. As I have said many

times before, the biggest problem with here is that as soon as you

critisize the Government of the day, you are labelled as a Liberal &

that means that 40% of the people on here hate you. How can you

help people that blindly hate you ?

Showing my ignorance here I guess, but surely there would be someone who would be willing to throw their hat in the ring if they were assured of the grey vote Aussie wide.

Someone who understands the needs of seniors AND has a high profile is what I think we need.

Maybe we could recruit Pauline, she can't get to UK because the volcano won't let her.

Hi again Jaxx, Pauline is the perfect example of what I am

referring to. The fact is, that Pauline was classified, incorrectly,

as a rascist, so most Australians profess to love her, but she

could not even get anywhere near 14% of the vote, for an Upper

House Seat in NSW. Remember, that it was not many years ago

that Pauline came close to being the Premier of Queensland &

she couldn't even get enough people in her own town to support

her, to win her home town seat in the last Queensland Election.

HI Innes and Jaxx Pauline got in the first time on a Liberal ticket but they sacked

her just before the election because she started to speak the truth ,and it was to late to take her off the Liberal how to vote card .Pauline made them sit up and take notice ,and then John Howard used all her policies. Pauline never got any money from the Liberals when she first stood for parliament.

I have just come home from over there and the mail comes to the front door of the house by a postperson and is pushed through the letter box.

I know cos I saved it from my sisters boxer bitch.



My mail here is delivered by a contractor driving an old clapped out wreck down the wrong side of the road and pushed into an old plastic container on the other side of the road to the house.

I am pleased to have found this web-site earlier this year when I retired. Common sense, positive comments from intelligent Seniors with interesting backgrounds, and fun too. As certain members come from the UK, we get an insight into that side of the world. I was born in England and came to Oz as a young child with my parents and 3 siblings,and never been back. I have worked and paid taxes all my life, raised 2 children and continue to be an honest and honourable Aussie, as I imagine that all members come from the same type of mould.

What I am experiencing now, is what other members comment on relating to Seniors. I do not hear a loud voice of

support from the Political paddock, and due to current disputes with Centrelink one gets 'fobbed off ' when sending letters and emails to the relevant personnel.

Seniors deserve to be heard, and action taken for a decent income, based on the blood, sweat and tears we have impregnated into the soil of Australia.

You could talk to innes who would pass your concerns on to the Australian Seniors Party ................I feel sure that they will advise you which steps they will take so as to to get a resolution here ..............
