Popular white wine issued with a recall

By all accounts we're drinking more in lockdown, and the last thing we want to be doing is heading to an emergency department. Be sure you check what you're drinking as Food Standards Australia has issued a recall for a popular white wine.

Noble Fellows Sauvignon Blanc 2021 vintage (750mL) was issued with a recall notice after "undeclared allergens", namely sulphites, were detected.

The wine has been available at BWS and Dan Murphy's bottle shops and retails for $15.

The health authority says customers who have an allergy or intolerance may have a reaction to the wine.

“Consumers who have a sulphites allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the recall notice says.

Legislation requires labels to disclose sulphites in the product and limits the amount of sulphites permitted in wines. Read a guide to sulphites in wine here.

Are you sensitive to sulphites? Do you prefer to buy organic wines?
