Poor Crocodiles :(

Why do they have to tape their mouths up SO tight?

It must be horrendous and frightening surely as they

are jumped on by huge men poor things.

Yes I know they can bite but couldn't the tape be taped to leave

an inch or two so the mouth can have a bit of movement in it?

Yes it does seem cruel Phyl, but if they had their mouths even a little open they are able to close with such great force, very likely that they would do quite a lot of damage--I think they are able to close their mouths at 14 tonn

"..they are jumped on by huge men" and by Terri Irwin.

Hmmmm, got any gaffer tape for that one?

Phyl, I remember a few years ago a trap was set for a croc in the river close to where i live. You have seen some photos of crocs in this area that I have posred elsewhere.

The people who set the trap (net) went down a midnight to check it and found a gigantic croc in the net - they thought it was dead so went closer.

The croc let out a roar and those men suddenly worked out how to walk on water.

Eventually the croc, which measured about 6 metres was captured and transferred to a croc farm in Rockhampton.

Having witnessed crocodiles, I would never get close enough to one even if it's mouth was taped - they are amazing animals, but very dangerous.

That sure would be something those blokes would never

forget Fwed and I agree your pics were amazing. Are crocs. out

to get people if they are not hungry I wonder or do they just view us

as a food source.  I still get upset to see SO many huge blokes

seeming  getting  joy jumping on one defenceless little Croc. Yes I know.

they are not quite so defenceless but I still hate that tape SO Tight.

You could give this croc a hug Phyl.

Steady on there Zapot, or you'll make the meat tougher.

"Here lizard, here lizard, come a wee bit closer to the bbq plate."

Here is a statue of a HUGE one caught at Normanton Qld in 1957 (shot by a woman)

Wow.There's big and then there's that Croc.

Great pics. and I know what you are all saying is right :)

I still go cold at the sight

if Steve Irwin holding his baby "Bob" very close to the

Crocodiles as anyone is capable of slipping over and the

baby not much bigger than the chickens the Crocs. are used

to being fed.

Scary to say  the least and in my humble opinion madness to take

the risk just to show how clever one is. (or dumb) :(

Yes I agreed with that Phyl

Talking about the 'wildlife warrior' and the 're-location' of wild crocodiles for the benefit of the private entrepreneurs who own crocodile farms and wildlife shows, when will the Australian public get to see Terri Irwin's wildlife wonderland that was bought with Howard's free gift of $6.3 million from the Australian taxpayer?

Last heard more dams were being put in to expand the cattle empire, which the Irwin outfit maintains actually benefit the fauna and flora.  Well, there you go, Terri Irwin's cattle grazing is beneficial, necessary even, but other farms are not.  It all depends on who owns the cows, silly moo!

The 6.3 Million would have been better spent elsewhere surely Nautilus.

I am all for money spent on animals but our hospitals and the medical

system is in such a bad way that money would have helped.

Mr. Howard should have been more astute hey.

I think Terri Irwin wants what she wants for herself

and her Father-in-law was sent packing fast, once Steve passed away

after all the work he had done for the Wildlife Sanctuary.

There are some very clever people who prey upon the vulnerability of us all as humans - to care for others and for any living being that could be suffering.
