Sydney

You probably all know this already, but a $2.50 concession pass for seniors allows you UNLIMITED travel on most public transport till the following morning 4A.M.

All public trains,buses and ferries.

Sydneys best bargain.

Australia wide

Event cinemas, which cover most main stream cinemas australia wide offer a seniors card for free, allowing you $8 entry to all cinemas all sessions all days.

Also every 10 tickets you buy gets you one freebie.

On line at seniorsclubonline.com.au

Gold Coast +

Pattons meats a bulk retail outlet offers 20% off for seniors on Tuesdays.

Its up to you to check the quality though, and the prices.

I believe this discount does not apply to specials.

They also have a wet fish section ,frozen goods, bread fruit and veg.

Malaysia

Australian Seniors can travel on most of the rail services throughout Malaysia including long distance or overnighter trains for 50% off the fare.

In NSW we get our drivers licence for free--a cut of the Elect' and rates and Water bill--if your are with Telstra

(the only reason I am)--- you get an extra discount off the rental if you are a aged pensioner--we also only have to pay for 3rd party and green slip --no reg for car.

There are also discounts in a lot of places with seniors card--bread shops etc

Philippines

Inter island ferries such as the giant www.Superferry.com.ph company offer 50% of fares through the island of the philippines for seniors.

Its a great way to travel without the rush, and in a relaxing manner and staterooms are available at the discount.also although fairly simple.

Amazingly cheap.

Food on board is plentifull and cheap at the large bistro,or you can pre pay for set meals in the upper class decks dining area.

Booze is available on board,or take your own.

Security is good with metal detecter check before boarding, and on board, soldiers accompany each cruise that we travelled.

No deck chairs unfortunatly on our ship to soak up the sun,Pity that would have been nice.

Accidents do happen, rarely,so be alert and be aware of the life jacket placements, and emergency procedures on board.

Good Sailing!

Yeh PlanB I forgot to mention the seniors drivers licence in NSW is free.

I just got one last week myself after moving to NSW from Qld where we pay approx $50 and its soon going up in Qld with the new smart licences that they are planning to around $160 I have heard..

Also I believe NSW get free vehicle registration where in QLD, pensioners presently pay over $500 for a car reg ;-((

Good move then Dennis--we also get cheap travel, I think it is about $2 or $2-50 to travel all day on public transport--I haven't used it but know that we have it.

Can also have cheap country link travel--within the state--or get a cut if you want to go 1st class--

You eat as much as like for $6 senior discount at the Sale shopping centre in Gippsland Chinese restaurant.

All the usual chinky stuff plus European nosh too.

The food is not too bad but often a bit cold.
