Petrol Prices

Crude oil is now $103 per barrel and yet our Petrol in Brisbane is $1.35 litre.
Funny how when the crude oil was $125 a barrel we were paying $1.47 litre at the pump and now with an 18% drop in crude oil pricing our fuel at the pump has only dropped 9%.
All the promises the Rudd Government made about fair pricing. It would appear that it doesn't matter who we vote into power they are just there to look after themselves (15% super contributions) and preen their egos.

Only a few words to say:

Profiteering, corporate domination, weak government, monopoly .......

.

possibly weakening dollar

I understand for every $1 oil prices drop it means 1 cent off petrol price. Don't forget a large portion of the price we pay is tax and that doesn't reduce.

We are paying $1.46 at the moment in Geelong, Victoria.

$1.54 in Tassie - we always pay high prices. she said rolling her eyes in frustration.......

Dollar is down to 80c to US dollar also - which does make a difference.

BUT take coffee - bought in US$ so when the AU$ went up to 95c did coffee come down or any other foodstuff?

NO. will it go up now - probably.

Just paid $1.59 per litre to fill up my tank - thank goodness I only do it once a fortnight. Live on the North coast of NSW - a holiday destination, and that does make a difference. Tourists and locals pay.
