Pension increase

Looks like pensioners are due for a rise.

After Tuesday 20th September, the single pension will be $748.80 a fortnight.

Pensioner couples will get a combined $1129 a fortnight.

I don't mind :)

Yes exceot that the CPI happened ages ago and we have to wait, well after.

Were going to get that much?

I MAY RETIRE.

Just don't spent it all in the one shop Seth

every little helps as the old lady said ,when she P***led over the cliff into the ocean

Tadpole, that was just a drop in the ocean.

OOOOOH,yippee that will pay the bill for talking to you guys almost????Cheap entertainment............Now girls before you bop me I am joking Wobbly

Your article on Aged Pensions states that pension rates will increase in line with CPI. This is incorrect. Aged Pensions are indexed against the higher of the CPI/PBLCI or MTAWE indices. Parliamentary pensions are indexed against current salaries. Australian Defence Force pensions (DFRDB), which are taxed and for which we paid an additional 5.5% of salary over a minimum of 20 years, are indexed at CPI. Over the last ten years, Parliamentary superannuation pensions have risen by 44%, the Age Pension has increased by 38% BUT the CPI indexed DFRDB has increased only a meagre 23%. We are desperately trying to get our pension indexed against the same indices as the aged pension. We are asking for a fair go. The contemptible Government response uses fictional figures to state it cannot afford to be fair to ex ADF personnel. After the service we have given do you think we should have earned respect and equity with aged pensioners?

Whose article on aged pensions ?

Better shop at Aldi :) :) :)

Oh NO I was going to ask what that lady did Tadpole BUT the penny dropped

I think :) :(

By George I think she's got it !!

I agree synergex, past ADF do get a lousy

I have no idea what PBLC or MTAWE stands for

PBLC.........Pensioner and Beneficiary Living Cost Index.

MTAWE.....Male total average weekly earnings.

synergex, "BUT the CPI indexed DFRDB has increased only a meagre 23%. We are desperately trying to get our pension indexed against the same indices as the aged pension. We are asking for a fair go. For fairness it must be added that the federal government's public service employees who were contributors to CSS superannuation (ComSuper) are in exactly the same boat.  In fact many are worse off because LNP and Labor governments fiddled the already modest federal public service superannuation to save $.

It is beyond contempt that this government which claims to represent the worker and ordinary people would be so callous and so short-sighted too, because inflation will see those people join pensioners with full access to similar benefits.

A smart government would ensure that anyone who is self supporting would continue to be that way.

Congratulations to age pensioners for getting a well deserved increase, but remember to support the claims of the ex-government employees synergex is talking about.  They deserve a fair deal too.  Otherwise governments can continue to divide and conquer the small people, while dishing out middle and upper class welfare to epopel who don't really need it.

We get $952.70 a fortnight for singles now -- so can't be $748.80?

PlanB - Look at the sites date when this was started - 9 years ago!!!!
