Paying bills

The following was sent to me by a relative, but I don't know the source.
It may be worth making enquiries for those who pay their bills at the PO or Telstra.

[color=purple]There is a number you can phone to get a pensioner exemption for the soon-to-be-introduced ripoff. This is the $2.20 you will be charged if you front up to the PO or Telstra with your bill to pay it in person.

Phone 1800.445.708, they require your phone number, name, dob and pension card number to register for exemption from this fee. You can register your home & and mobile phones.

Hope this is helpful, even if you pay online, please pass this on to any pensioners you know who may be able to use it!

Telstra sent me a form quite a few months ago, asking me to quote my pension number and type of pension. They then sent me another letter , or maybe it was included with a bill, I can't quite remember, stating that "for the time being", I would be exempted from the fee.

Yes good to register for this as it allows you to pay on line or phone or at any post office WITHOUT the rip off fee

I understand that any person who may benefit from a concession from Telstra will automatically be exempt from this fee.............I did not know that you had to apply for it .............Thanks for the info koko...............
