Part-time jobs for over 50's
Hi everyone, just lamenting the lack of part-time jobs for us over 50's...if anyone has a happy story or any success stories about this, I'd love to hear from you. Is it as hard as I think it is? A friend has been applying/looking for 6 years now and myself for 2 years, is there anyone willing to give us a go?

Congratulations on getting your Father into an Aged Care Facility Jacinta as I remember reading all about how difficult it all was for you.
You can advertise your services for whatever it is you are good at doing and go from there
I look after people's homes and their animals and gardens to a big degree. I baby sit
and I have many homes I go to with elderly folk living in them and take pets for walks and do shopping. I also Proof Read and I can type at a good speed so get temp. work.
Advertise yourself and do not be prepared to wait for work to come to you go out and sell yourself and your attributes re what you can, do, and be a willing worker and you will succeed. Yes I agree not driving is very limiting but not defeating. You have said (I think it was you) you like to travel so you can go live away as I think your Dad supported you? You will find without this, it is more expensive to live, but working sure helps :) and as I keep saying I have more work than I can handle and maybe if you let me know where you are, I could help you find work.
Anyway now you do not have to do those jobs you found so difficult with your Dad you will be a lot more content and feel like getting out and working.
Good luck with it all and God bless your Dad also. I pray he finds the home wonderful and the people caring for him kind, gentle and considerate and above all respectful.
