I am not sure what you mean by being effected in the changes to the pension and one off payments but we are grateful for anything and absolutely livid that it is given as a one off payment instead of an pension increase. I was incensed that the Government was contemplating Maternity payments before an increase to the Aged pension but not surprised as pensioners are frequently treated as second class citizens or just plain ignored. Politicians admit they could not live on $562 a fortnight but expect pensioners to do so and then pat themselves on the back because they gave us $500 that was immediately gobbled up in food, petrol and rate rises. Bad luck if we need dental attention, have to call in the electrician or the plumber or buy disability aids. I had to do all of those things and I can tell you old age is not for sissies and a sense of humour is the only thing that keeps you going.
