On DSP and want to marry someone living abroad
Hi
I'm in a bit of a dilemma here.
I have met my ideal soul partner on an Asian dating site, we have connected so well and I have been talking to her via live cam for over 2 months now on Skype.
We are so in love with each other and want to be together ASAP.
I'm planning to take a trip over to Hong Kong where she has been living and working for the last 20yrs, she is originally from the Philippines.
I have looked into marraige and the complications of her immigrating over here. I keep hearing conflicting stories, that she would not be allowed to live with me in Australia as I'm on a Disability Support Pension, and I would not have enough income to support her.
Even though I'm on DSP, I don't live in a house or rented property, my permanent home for the last 6yrs is a Bus I converted into a Mobile Home, so I don't have all the overheads that most people do, ie; Rent, Rates, Water, Gas, Electric etc, I'm pretty much self sufficient.
Also I have just been informed by a friend that there is a Cut-Off age limit to people entering Australia as a Immigrant, I was told anyone over 45 would not be granted citizenship, is this true ?
What happens if I marry her abroad, will that change things with my current situation ?
We are so involved with each other and want to live together, are my concerns true and if so is there anyway possible we can achieve a positive outcome on this.
Any advice will be gratefully accepted.
Kind Regards
Keith
