Loved It !!!

Me too!!!!! lol

So did I, but on the same subject has anyone been caught up in the hype of the countdown to the games?

I love sport, especially from my recliner, but for some reason I cant get enthused by the up-coming Olympics. I guess having stories of drug cheats emerging again, doesn't help. Plus the drama with Jana Rawlinson AGAIN, who is not competing thank god! And the spectacle of swimmers belting each other and then trying court action to attend the games. Then there is a problem with a cyclist. It seems to just go on and on. Why cant these 'sports' people act like responsible representatives? Channel 2's story on Lay-down Sally also dampened any enthusiasm.

Will the presence of Kochie and Mel have you sitting on the edge of your seat, riveted to the screen? Will you watch the opening ceremony knowing that there are an awful lot of drug cheats marching that wont be caught, and are there under false pretences? Really it is a joke.

Please wake me when its over

I will watch the opening and closing--but thats all--I am SICK to death of sport on TV--we are bombarded with it--I will be watching tapes I have already done--and avoiding it all like the plaque.

I certainly won't watch all of the Olympics, but I will try to watch the men's and women's gymnastics. I am always amazed at the strength, balance, and coordination those folks display. So many of the events I have no connection with and even wonder why they get called Olympic sports.

I often like the opening and closing ceremonies. But there again, I wonder what some of the programs are really trying to say. Is it just an effort to out do the previous ceremonies? There was one year that the opening program was so abstract the wife and I were wondering what is this all about. Don't ask me which country that was, I do not remember, and would not say so anyway.

We are very excited about the Games. I admire the wonderful people who spend so much time making us proud.

Those who do not like The Olympic Games can just not tune in until they are over so that is good for them

as with all sport or anything else we do not like. Sport gives so many people cheap entertainment via the tele. or net

or going to watch kids play or well just following a footy. team. Not all aspects of anything are to everyones liking

We all live together so I suppose as long as we are not "grumpy older Generation people' we will be o.k. I remember

Terry writing about how he and his wife enjoyed all ages of people in their neighbourhood and thought how nice that was.

I like to think I am and will always be interested in what others enjoy and not just what I need.

We keep ourselves to ourselves but love our lives. Nothing is perfect in this world of course :) but to us it is near perfect.

Allvery well Phyl but is there ANY escape--seems that no matter what chanel you watch these days there is always sprt--same goes for the radio mainly on weekends--there should be a special channel--that those that like sport can go to--please let us that like other things be catered for

True enough bombardment is not such a good thing in anything.....

But some people complained about the Pope's visit albeit just a few days.

Also the Deli Lama's visit or any Royal Person but it is jut for such a few

days in each case what the heck?

Even School Holidays because of them being disruptive.

Even Christmas (probably does start a bit early) but the joy on kids faces

and mine also makes it a lovely time of year.

I am just saying nothing really matters does it? We can all do our own thing in some form

or another regardless what others are enjoying what we do not. (psst I am not all that into

Aussie rules or any of the football but Peter's face gives me so much enjoyment because

he loves watching so much. I could go do something else but he likes to talk to me

about the game and have me agree with him re the umpire making dreadful decisions where

the Swans are concerned :0 Is he one eyed? absolutely :)

Just my points of view.

Anyone see the incredible layer of smog over the Olympic city on TV even though half the traffic is off the road and industry shut down? If that's half of what they live with every day, hooley dooley they must have scary health/lung problems? I note the Olympic committee have allowed athletes to withdraw if they think the smog will harm their health.

Question? Why was this not examined FULLY before awarding the games?

Question? Why was this not examined FULLY before awarding the games?

I don't know WHY the games were allowed to be held there at all---seems that the players that will be inhaling very deeply will not be doing their health any good at all
