Obeid's girl is a perfect replacement for Xi's boy.

Kristina Keneally will take up the Senate seat vacated by Sam Dastyari with her two main contenders, Transport Workers Union boss Tony Sheldon and United Voice union leader Tara Moriarty, today pulling out of the race for the spot ahead of the preselection later this month.

That's Labors reward for appointing corrupt ministers in NSW

Yes, this American-born media commentator, formerly NSW Premier could become our Prime Minister.

As a Sky News presenter, Ms Keneally took legal action against former federal Labor leader Mark Latham after he made unflattering comments about her party links with jailed former minister Eddie Obeid.
.... wonder how the case is going?

Suze, I was about to say much the same-- watch out Shorten

Keneally is smart/attractive --always seems to work -- and has a good appearance

“FORMER NSW Labor premier Kristina Keneally has made a formal complaint to her Sky News bosses after an on-air attack on her from fellow presenter Mark Latham.

On Tuesday night former federal Labor leader Latham launched into Keneally on Jones & Co, describing her as a “Yankee sheila” and a “protege of Eddie Obeid”, the disgraced former Labor powerbroker.“

 News

She  ever took legal action but made a complaint to Sky News and got him sacked ..

She has guts as well,  something our pollies have NONE of

She never did anything for NSW whilst she was the Premier

Supported Obeid and co...... which to me spells corrupt.

Eddie Obeid had big reasons to celebrate at a party he hosted in his Sydney parliamentary office on December 4, 2009.

Earlier in the day the man who relished his ALP “godfather” reputation had used the numbers he controlled — with fellow MP and mate Joe Tripodi — to install Kristina Keneally as the next NSW Labor premier.

Keneally was Obeid’s pick. Elevating her to become the state’s first female premier was a fabulous confirmation of his power and authority in the party.

But Fast Eddie, as he was sometimes known, had achieved much more on this day of reckoning. Obeid had also knifed Keneally’s predecessor, Nathan Rees, for having the temerity a month earlier to axe from his ministry two Obeid mates: Tripodi and Ian Macdonald. He also had blocked the path of the party head office favourite to replace Rees, former Sydney lord mayor Frank Sartor.

Australian sept 2017

Jailed former NSW Labor ministers Eddie Obeid and Ian Macdonald and Obeid's middle son Moses will face a marathon six-month criminal trial in 2019 on conspiracy charges over their alleged involvement in a coal deal.

On Friday, the men entered pleas of not guilty to charges of conspiring between late 2007 and early 2009 over the grant by Macdonald, then mining minister, of a coal exploration licence at Mount Penny in the Bylong Valley.

SMH

Her Achilles Heel is her link with Obeid!

and Tripoli and the rest of the Labanese Mafiosa Including Albanese who with his wife Carmel a labour minister were Obeid supporters.

Former NSW Labor minister Ian Macdonald has been sentenced to 10 years' jail over the decision to grant a mining licence to a company run by former CFMEU union boss John Maitland, who will spend at least four years behind bars.

Macdonald will be back in court later this year — earlier this week he was committed to stand trial on conspiracy charges with fellow former Labor frontbench colleague Eddie Obeid.

Those charges relate to a coal exploration licence involving a property owned by the Obeid family in the Bylong Valley near Mudgee.

Gee Brocky, I thought Albanese was an Italian name. Didn't Tebbutt belong to the opposite faction of Obeid? He stood in her way when Iemma wanted Tebbutt to be deputy Premier.

My trust in any Politicians is  NIL

She wasn't as popular as she thought she was, now she gets straight into a dream job without being elected, not fair, every time I look at her, I see Eddie and most people have long memories.

Sadly I can't agree that people have long memories....quite the opposite....and I reckon that's why we've ended up with the politicians in parliament right now.  In recent years, many vote on popularity mainly through media.   Some vote on looks and fame.

In other words short memories, and for silly reasons.

Dead right darcie -- it has been proved that most of the public  -- have SHORT memories, never look up and there was another thing as well but thats why things that they don't want you to see are put up in a higher area,  and like you said some vote on looks alone,   take Baird and now Kennelly -- and brainwashing through the media.

Do people forget that Julie Bishop was a hateful mongrel that held out on dying people with the Asbestos, do they really think she gives hoot about anyone?!

I would not trust her, she is a go getter

Labor Senator Sam Dastyari will formally resign next week, having pocketed about $18,000 from taxpayers since he announced his resignation on December 12.

Earlier today, Bill Shorten said Senator Dastyari would formally resign “very soon”, but repeatedly refused to say when that would be.

Senator Dastyari, who has continued to draw an annual salary of about $200,000 since announcing his resignation, confirmed to The Australian that he would complete the formal process next week, following news yesterday that f ormer NSW premier Kristina Keneally will take up his seat when parliament resumes in February.

Pressed earlier today on when Senator Dastyari would resign, Mr Shorten said: “I’m sure he will very soon.”

Asked again whether it was appropriate for Senator Dastyari to continue to draw a senator’s salary, Mr Shorten said: “I’m sure he’s just finishing up the matters which he had outstanding.

IMO WE the PUBLIC that employ these parasites should make the call when they get out

Senator Dastyari’s resignation came after it emerged that he had allegedly gone to the Sydney mansion of Chinese Communist Party-linked businessman Huang Xiangmo and suggested they speak outside, so that their conversation could not be intercepted via their phones.

A partial tape of a press conference Senator Dastyari gave in July 2016 subsequently emerged, in which the Senator could be heard pledging to respect China’s position on the South China Sea, directly contradicting Labor policy.

The controversy late last year followed Senator Dastyari’s sacking as Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate in September 2016, following revelations that Chinese company Top Education Institute had covered a $1600 travel expense for Senator Dastyari, at his request.

It was also revealed that Mr Huang’s Yuhu group paid Senator Dastyari an undisclosed sum to cover legal expenses after the senator was sued for more than $40,000.

In December allegations emerged that Senator Dastyari had tried to persuade Labor foreign affairs spokeswoman Tanya Plibersek to cancel a meeting with a Chinese pro-democracy activist.

Australian

Surely there is much more to this story

Symptom of what wrong with Australian investigative journalism

Or perhaps the public doesn’t care anymore

Just another grubby politician yet Kristina Keneally is unlikely to fade away

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2011-04-01/politicsabjorensen/45846

You know when a Labor person is really on the outer, Raphael, when even the ABC denigrates them.

I am confused on this...doesn't there have to be an election for this or can she just be given the job??

Understand there are others chasing it or have they all pulled out...some have.

In the undemocratic Upper house a Senator from the same party is appointed by the party.

Three others sought the position two Union Officials stood aside ?..

The third my friend Virgina Judge was rolled as she was not as close to Shorten as Kennelly
