New Postal System

Not happy Jan with this new postal system.  Our daughter recently posted out invitations to our grand-daughters birthday party, which is this weekend.  She posted them with the correct $1 stamp on (not worth doing priority for so many invites), we were told that regular postage ($1 stamp) would take 4/5days for delivery - so she posted them well in advance,  Guess what?  They have finally been received 12 days after posting.  I do not think this is good enough.  Anyone else got any comments on the new system?

i havent noticed ant diference,    the bills for gas and water,   and electricity are still finding there way here,

After waiting for a posted item from an eBay purchase for nearly 11days that only had to travel a few suburbs,I am investing in a carrier pigeon .with a basket attached.

Thank goodness it wasn't a perishable food item ..it would have walked in by itself...

Saw on the news recently two lads have started a postal service of their own, can't remember where in Australia, but they're going great guns cranky, maybe you could use them! Works similar to the Uber taxi service.

One of my grandsons is a postie Banjo. and if I went by how slow he gets a move on...I'd still be waiting for my Christmas cards at Easter...

I saw the greedy Post Office CEO that Rudd appointed on TV .. seems the postage needs to go up To support his $6m salary and the $2M donation to his family museum which being Muslim is classified as a charity donation so no tax payable for it.

Going back to the Post Office CEO, he has strange ideas that posties should do chores like dropping in to feed the dog etc. and do small chores around the place so that the slow post can be delayed ??? whilst he goes laughing all the way to the bank at what idots Australians are.

Since he took over the PO has been nothing but a disaster.

Maybe privatization is not such a bad option after all!

I was intrigued the other day to see that my local chemist is an authorised drop off point for parcels especially on line ordered goods. Apparently when ordered the chemist has their address given it is a fast delivery and the person who ordered is told on dispatch that it is on the way/delivered ready for collection. Obviously alternatives to the postal system are starting up.

"Postal warehouse "has a rather nice ring to it Vivity.

It could catch on....
