Hi barb....my name is Rosina..my friend and I have an over 50s group on facebook....we have nearly 400 members all over Australia...Im in Melbourne...we host at least once a month lunches or afternoon teas...I live in Coburg and they are mostly on my side of Melbourne but we always choose a place close to trains/trams and buses...we also have a facebook site were we can chat..let me know if you would like to join..wishing you all the best...Rosy

Hello Rosie does your group have meetings or lunches for people from other states? wondering how that may work for those from SA, NSW,Qld or my state ACT. Another chat site is a great idea too, variety  is important because it stops people from getting into a rut with the same old,same old......Facebook is a bit daunting for me,I'm still trying  to navigate it,but I will persist.....because friends tell me it's worth the effort........I'll reserve my judgement till later...

I would suggest to those of you who want to contact each other to do so via PM's.  It is not a good idea to expose personal details on a Forum open to alll and sundry.

If you don't know how to PM try this

1. Click on the name under the avatar

2. This will bring up the individual's profile page and where it says SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE click on that and it will bring up a box for you to type your message in.

3.  Then click on  POST.  YLC will then email your message to that person and they can reply with complete privacy for you both.

Hi its up to each state to organise a day out...anyone can do it...there is a part on our facebook page were they are put and then invites go out...we have a large amount of members in Victoria...there is meetup....lots of friends groups there...and for sure in your area...hopeI helped...rosy
