The unspoken secret of any Netflix account has always been the ability to share your password with a friend or family member to give them free access to create a profile on your account and to use the service for free. But did you know it was illegal?

The company's terms and conditions state that you cannot share your account with individuals beyond your household.

To combat the illegal sharing of accounts, Netflix has invested in technology to determine if this is happening on your account and to block your service for that additional user.

The additional user won't be force to setup a new account, instead, Netflix is currently testing the 'Add an extra member' to all plan in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru currently before pushing the changes worldwide.

Is this a step in the right direction for Netflix?
