My First Time

I've actually gone onto e-bay and bid for an item for the first time. I don't really understand it all, but I bid the price I was prepared to pay for the item, plus postage. I've had a message back that my bid is successful, but the bidding doesn't stop until tomorrow afternoon. Seems I've connected with a Dutch Sale item/multiple, identical, and that puzzles me a bit. I always thought that a Dutch auction was where people bid less and less. Oh well, as long as I haven't bought three, at the price I bid for one, I'll be OK.

Hi Bev, Some time ago I compiled a "How to at eBay" for the members of my Scottish group :

You might find it helpful. See: http://threetowners.com/ebay.htm

Thanks hughie - my computer is so slow - and my dial up is so slow, that I had to cut off your explanaition, or be cut off.

Congratulations the first time should be memorable.............Bev.

Now of course some of us just being downright stickybeakes or should I drop the s off that and say stickybeak?

Wondering wondering what Bev. won the bid on?

Bad me

Phyl.

Your bid can be successful but until the auction time has run its course you can be outbid at any time, so keep an eye on it, you may have to bid again.

Don't know yet Phyl - still keeping mye eye on it - sort of - seems these auction things go on for ages/ days. Been going onto the site, looking if I could pick up some info, but it's all double dutch to me. If I buy something, I will pay for it. They certainly don't make it easy for the first timer. You are expected to know so much!

I won my bid - it wasn't anything too exciting Phyl - just a photocard for my camera, but it is an older camera, and you can't get the cards in the shops any more, so I'm quite happy.

Good for you Bev. Exciting I think....

As you said something YOU wanted/needed whereas something someone else won the bid on would not be of interest so that was great.

You may be hooked now lol

Phyl.
