Monday - 18/1/10 - Nonsense.
Has anyone tried to buy the olde type watermelon lately? You know the sugary, sweet tasting, crisp watermelon? The only thing available in shops now is the "seedless" variety. It does have a vague watermelon taste, but nothing like the real one's I had as a kid. Guess I'll have to grow my own.

I know what you mean.....I cant remember the last time I had real full bodied watermelon. The new "seedless" varieties certainly are lacking in flavour. It seems to be yet another blight visited upon us by the major retailers. All they seem to be concerned about these days is shelf life and convenience. Who cares if we have to spit out a few seeds?..... I would rather that than have the absence of taste that todays fruit all seems to have.
