Phyl, sad news & I understand your feelings.
Life is full of ups & downs.
Awihile back my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer which spread to her sternum and then to her liver.
She has had blood transfusions when her platlets were zero and is now on a maintenance regime , she only has chemo if she feels she is up to it.
I talk to her daily on skype as we are thousands of kilometers apart.

Friday I attend the funeral of a good friend who had cancer.
Seems as we get older we lose more of the ones we care for.
But that is not unnatural as getting older means that unfortunately we are getting closer to the end of our lives.
That is a fact and something we should understand, not deny.
Phyl, celebrate the wonderful life your mother had, and she was lucky to have a great daughter.

Phyl & Peter, so sorry to hear about the passing of Peter's Mum, please accept our deepest sympathy. You were lucky that you had her around for so long. As previously said, it doesn't matter how old they are you're still never prepared for the loss of a parent. Love and Hugs to you both.

I would think that even those who have become frustrated with the site will gradually wander back after the bugs have been ironed out. Change is always frustrating and annoying, but once you get used to doing things a bit differently, its all "business as usual".

they are in a good place and the time was right to leave.

We had only phoned a short time before we got the phone call
and as they had her in a chair (albeit all her medication had been
stopped meaning we knew the time was near) it was not expected
just at the time she did leave. We have had such a small amount
of real sleep as we have been waiting for the phone to ring
with the sad news for around 3 weeks as it could have been day or night.

Dear Fwed.
I feel for you and what you are going through also and
know your sister is lucky to have such a supportive Brother.
You can only be there and try to keep your own spirits up as you
cannot afford your immune system to go down either.
It is so difficult as we cannot afford to dwell on things
TOO much ourselves as life is very short and we have to
go on for the time we are given - but jimminies it is difficult
as we all know.

Good morning everyone,I am off to Vinnies but before I go I want to wish you all a great day with special hugs and love going to Fwed and Phyl who are carrying heavy burdens at the moment,I wish I had a magic potion to take your pain away..............wobbly

Phyl I am sorry to see your mother inlaw died. It seems by your post she just went to sleep in a chair and passed on. I think that is a way we would like to go. At 99 she has had a full life.
Fwed I am sorry to see your sister is not well. Being such a long distance away from her must not make it any easer for you.

Phyl ... The views said by fwed cover a lot of ground and I could not agree more
with him, As you lose a loved one it is hard and does not get easier as they
slip away one by one until you are left.

You know Seth we went to put a notice in the paper and I
said to Peter "People worked with your Mum at H.J. Heinz all those
years ago at Dandenng will maybe see the notice and then I realized
probaby not to many still here at 99 and over :(. Time does march on but
we ao have today here hey and have a good day everyone.

I do hope your wife is on the improve Seth as that was such a worry
to you both. Your wife is SO lucky you keep eating the garlic and
onion sandys. so keeping fit to look after her until she is better.
