Material Dressing gown etc

I was trying to find the Snugie thread but was unable to--

I have remembered the material in the dressing gown and blankets I have, it is called
"Coral Fleece" soft and warm as and very light too.

They are available in Target--Kmart--etc look like Polar Fleece but are much softer

I have many dressing gowns and we now sleep in warm Minky blankets

instead of sheets until Spring :) I bought 8 lovely warm ones so can change them

with no problems. but I will look for "Coral Fleece" d.gowns thanks Jane.

as a few of mine are looking to be replaced soon.

Phyl.

I have a lot of dressing gowns too Phyl--but since I have had the Coral Fleece I haven't used the others at all--I was lucky enough to get the button up ones--the ones they have now all seem to be the wrap arounds--but sooooo very warm and soft--they have them for men as well at Target at least

Thanks Jane I will look tomorrow. :)

Do they come in bigger sizes Plan B? I take a 20 in Australian made but lately all made in china or elsewhere and any size can do - was a 22 around 15 years back when their stuff started to creep into my designer of excellence KMart -now in Best & Less as well KMart or Target usually a 24 as their sizes are smaller than Australian ones.

So looking for a replacement but it must button up and be big enough for me - and that means 24 as just bought new T/shirt nighties as back in fashion again - yippee and had to buy 24 to fit without being tight and my Best and Less from 1983 still fits and size 20 - but only good for hot nights these days which are scarce as hens teeth in Tassie!

Long sleeves needed as we haven't had a night over 3c for last few weeks and a minus 1. So long T/shirt nighties with long sleeves and NOT thin by wearing as favourites as most of mine were and with one exception - now off to nightie heaven or in this case into the garage for car cleaners.

And I am not kidding myself - ha ha - as my size 18 and 20 made here clothing still fit nicely! Still in good nick too - unlike Chinese stuff which starts to deteriorate with first wash before even wearing ! Mind you since most of it was WA wear for hot state and Tassie is cold - doesnt get a lot of wear only the night life stuff really. Had to buy new wardrobe when we got here in winter cold.

My dressing gown I wear always is soft sherpa material circa 1986 - and buttons up - but have one I bought for going into hospital but zips up and I hate it so near new and others are now dog bed material! Or even gone to doggy heaven as I take all old woolies etc to the Dogs Home too for the dogs there and they dont last as long as can be looked after and washed as often etc.

So cut off the buttons on woolies etc and donate them to the dogs folks they need our help. Towels too for washing new arrivals.

I know what you mean Val--re the sizes--I have 8 in the wardrobe that still fits but when I buy stuff these days it is sometimes anything from 10 to18 they are so small sometimes--yes the dressing gowns are in all sizes--and they also have mens--however I haven't of late seen any button up ones which I like--maybe you would be able to put buttons on them?

I am wearing my nighties I have had for decades--( very un glamorous but who cares) as I am unable to find any I like--I like the long sleeved long in length ones--in a thick T shirt material and have only been able to get the short ones--or the ones on a yoke which I don't like--the ones I have are getting pretty darn thin and I have put a few in the duster bag. I have pyjamas but haven't worn them for about 10 years

psst Jane if you use Minky Blankets for sheets er you can sleep in "the altogether" ;-) :red:

Good lord Phyl, hush your mouth ,,, you will have one of the lads hiding in the bushes with a camera and your sexy self will wind up on facebook or utube  :zip:

:)

..... ;-)

............

Next time you are in The Best State Tadpole come down to Latrobe Valley

We have plenty of room so you can have your own facilities and you

can cook so we both have a holiday....................................good

These Coral fleece ar softer than the Minky Phyl

Best & Less Plan B have new range of long sleeved thick T/shirt nighties and on me, length is just on the knee but I am most likely taller than most or was at school for my generation, have a look if you have them near you and must as we do and back of beyond in retail terms!

They also had tank top ones also very long which I also bought a couple of for summer such as it is in Tassie. Also thick T/Shirt material.

Obviously back in fashion!

Thanks for that Val, We don't have the Best and Less here have to go to town--160k there and back but will have to go in for an appointment in the next few weeks--so will look then--I am barely 5 foot --I was 5' and 1/2"

(can't miss the 1/2 inch--lol Thanks for your trouble

What do you know Jane :) At K Mart bought two lovely (as you said soft)

on Wednesday Coral Fleece dressing gowns - I have many d.g's

but you are right about the C.Fleece ones and yes they are

very warm and extra soft and now I am wearing those rather

than my other ones.

BUT joy of joy and heaven in a bag Peter actually noticed Queen size

Coral Fleece blankets for just $20 each (I bought all the Minkys

cheap but cheap was still $40 each, SO washed the two C.F. as soon

as we got home and put them on our bed as sheets last night

and trully like sleeping wrapped in warm clouds (well not sure

clouds are actually warm but sounds nice).

I am off today to buy one more d.g. and a couple more blankets.

Life is fantastic.

Have a lovely Friday folks

Phyl.

I was wondering if you had managed to get them Phyl--aren't they just the best--I have the blankets as well soooo very soft light and warm and I love the feel of them--and they don't shed when they are washed. I got the button through dressing gowns--which they don't seem to have now. What colour did you get Phyl

Typed a long message and it disappeared into cyber space.

Trying again :(

I only saw the pink and blue C. Fleece d.gowns Jane and they

are wraps .I like button through also but not too fussed and enjoying my two

so going back to get another one or maybe two regardless I do have quite a few

other d.gowns. Our cats thought my knees were the best last night so whereas

Peter has one and me the other I had both watching tele. all night because of

me wearng a Coral Fleece.

Going to buy at least 2 maybe 4 more of the blankets today - yes going back

as we are impressed.

We used two as sheets and like sleeping in a cloud so have to have more

to keep the feeling lol.
