Man/dog survive kangaroo attack.

This is an amazing story.
How lucky was this man...not to mention his dog!
"I was stuck having to hold onto the dog with both hands because it was half drowned and I couldn't really see anything because the kangaroo just ripped into me.

"It was a shock at the start because it was a kangaroo, about 5ft high, they don't go around killing people.

"Then all of a sudden I realised the first hit gave me opened up a wide gash above my eye and blinded me.

"I was flailing away underwater carrying a dog with a kangaroo ripping into me.
I think the Roo might have been chased by the Dog and he took to the Dam to escape--and was just defending it's self--they can and do drown foxes this way when they chase them

That sounds right, PlanB.

Boy weren't they lucky though?

It looks like the dog chased the kangaroo who tried to defend itself.

49 Year old Chris Rickard was walking around his property together with his dog, a blue heeler named Rocky.

They stumbled upon a sleeping kangaroo, who woke up and tried to get away, chased by the dog Rocky. The kangaroo then jumped in to the water and the dog followed. In a self defence move typical for kangaroos the kangaroo grabbed the dog with its front paws and held it under water to drown it.

By now Chris had caught up with them and leapt into the water too to save his dog from the five foot roo, but the roo was not giving up the dog just like that and ripped in to Chris too. He received a big gash on his forehead and several deep gashes on his abdomen and chest while he was under water trying to pull his half drowned dog away from the roo and make his way back to shallower water, the roo only finally backed off a bit when Chris managed to elbow it in the throat.

Yes Gerry the Roos will take to the dam or water if they are being chased--the dog wnt after it and it then tried to drown the dog--I hope they will ALL be OK
