In Western Australia 6PR radio station is holding a rally at the Town Hall in Perth
for pensioners to object to the lack of consideration for any monetary help in the Federal Budget.
6PR welcome stories and comments on how we are managing to survive on $275 per week
i urge all objectors to make statements. I am personally bombarding with messages to
Mr Swan and the Prime Minister
How many pensioners will be subject to illness or death because we cannot afford heating,proper food ,petrol to visit the doctor, warm clothes or any of the essentials of living,whilst we wait until 2009 count the deaths Mr Rudd and M r Swan.
THE GOVERNMENT ATTITUDE APPEARS TO BE "IGNORE THEM AND THEY WILL GO AWAY" OR DIE!!!!

lorralee -- you have some wonderful ideas - we must make pollies sit up and take notice -- the stock answer to any questions is "But we gave them $900 extra" 1. Most of this we already had 2. It is not provided for in next years budget and 3. It is $17 a week -- which they can take away any time they like. But unfortunately e-mails are sooooo easy to ignore -- clogging up the phone lines of your local pollie of both parties will be noticed much more--2 days a month until they hear that we need at least an extra $100 a week - if this seem excessive remember that food, clothing, electricity, water, petrol etc etc are all going up on a weekly basis. It is nice of channel 7 to start an 'Adopt a Pensioner campaign', but food parcels and charity are not the answer the Pollies will use this as another excuse for got doing the right thing by us. We have a RIGHT to a decent allowance, we earned it.
