I don't care where you are or who you are, a severe smack would have pulled this spoiled brat into line. Its obvious this little upstart gets away with blue bloody murder by those in 'the firm' when his parents are gallavanting around the countryside.

He's a darling!

Kate looks worried - most probably wondering what he will do next ???

He's a very young child, who was probably tired.  Presumably your children were always little angels and well behaved 24/7.

No need for the nasty comment!

Sophie and Updadaisy,

I agree absolutely with what you say.

Louis is only four years old ... like most four year olds.

How unedifying it would have been for his mother to smack him ... especially in  Britain where in some places smacking a child is illegal.

I suppose that is why mum looks so stressed.

Hey Beemso, is that what happened to you as a kid ?that would explain the reason for your addled brain. At least  Louis is better behaved than the woman sitting behind Charles LOL

   BeeMee and Suze,

So you think Kate should have caused a very public scene by smacking Louis??!!

Also perhaps smacking isn't in her "parent" guide.

Not all parents whale into their children.  There are other more enlightened ways of raising one's family.

The child should have been left at home with a sitter.

Yes Suze I agree, he should have been left at home. This and the previous episode would be enough for me to say to him, when you learn to behave in public, then you will join us.

No, my children did not behave like this little rebel. Good bribery works and in fact even a tap on the back of the hand. They were rewarded for good behaviour but not over the top like some who purchase toys or now it would more likely be video games. All four of my children are well established in professional jobs and none have been in jail or in trouble with the police, so I guess we did something right.

Well...I simply do not believe you...if you did as you said with your children you would not have suggested giving the child "a severe smack."

...and imagine calling a child "a little ...."  if you yourself were well brought up you would NOT have said that!

Believe what you like I don't care. The last 2 years I have changed, less tolerant of idiots. We do not live in a perfect world, it simply does not exist any longer. It came close when I had my children (my first born in 1962) but today if I was younger,  I would not even consider having children, knowing what is coming.

A severe smack is a quick 3 fingered slap on the back of the hand which hurts minimally but gets attention and the child is more broken hearted that mum or dad smacked them. Gets better results than what you seem to think the word severe smack is. You become a worry if you believe it to be a strap across the butt or a smack across the head. To think of those scenarios would have me greatly concerned.

As for little shit, I live next door to one, do you? No, you would be a goody two shoes that hitting in anyway would be wrong. Sadly the lack of a proper discipline is what has this planet in the shape it is. Proper discipline is the correct thing to do, then walk the child off to the privacy of a room and talk to them about what they did wrong. That is so other siblings do not hear, it gives respect to the child. Never embarrass a child in front of their brothers and sisters, it is a recipe for disaster.

I was taught this way and so I chose the same for my children. They grasp right from wrong quickly and by the time school had began, I could confidently walk with my children into any shop that had glassware on shelves in the aisles, none would touched them, they knew not too. I still have an extremely close relationship with my children and they know if they needed anything I would be there is a flash (F.C.P)  - F. Covid Permitting. You work out the first word.

The best thing to do was for Catherine to swap seats and let him sit next to his Father.  He might have been a little more obedient. It's usually the youngest that is the clown of the family and gets the most laughs from his siblings. It's all attention seeking.

I can just hear the antic's of the nursery..........

George went, Char went so why did I get left at home yesterday?

[when they were at Saint Pauls]

He was probably having a fit being left at home with the Nanny and wanted everyone to know he is now a big boy!

He took the salute at Buck House  [photos of him by the window]  LOL

I can just hear Charles say you better go and say sorry to your mother Louis!

Then he pulls a face and things about it and then smiles at his grandfather and runs away!

Typical 4 your old who is the younger in the family.

Don't think Louis is a little chit he is a normal little boy thank goodness.

The royal, four, stole the show several times during the Jubilee weekend, including at the Pageant last night where he showcased several amusing expressions as he sat next to his mother in the Royal Box.  But later he appeared more calm, as he sat on his grandfather Prince Charles' lap to enjoy the pageantry.

Who is for the Naughty Corner next?

In what would become one of the most talked-about aspects of the event, the Queen interacted with Louis, who stood next to her on the balcony. And the young prince was photographed holding his hands over his ears as the aircraft soared overhead. The monarch smiled throughout the flypast and waved at the crowds before going back into the palace.

I thought this was hilarious!

for heaven's sake - he was a bored 4 year old!  - imagine the outcry if either of his parents had smacked him.  He is already on 'public' display - give him a break!  I laughed! - with sympathy for his parents!.  If a 4 year old is good all the time, then I would be checking his temperature!  ( Note, he was much better while sitting on granddad's knee  -how normal is that!)

:) Agree almost midnight.

Oh my goodness me, where is everyone humour?

There is no humour in this group anymore.........

Naughty chair was a Joke, you know that thing you all used to laugh at!

yeah Beamso, excellent suggestion, give the little showman a slap on the hand and he yells out "mom stop hitting me!" Anymore clever advice?

I was hoping all that jogging on grandpa's knee would make him pee on the future king hahaha
