Leukemia
One of the younger members of our family has just this morning been diagnsed as having leukemia. He's a twelve year old boy. He was supposed to spend the school holidays with his Nan, but on Friday, his Mum phoned and said he was a bit off his tucker, feeling rather lethargic and had bruises all over his body. Went to the doctor, they took blood tests - the results came in this morning. He's now in Westmead Children's hospital. Just hope that he is one of the survivors.
What a worry for all the family Bev. It is such a shock isn't it.
Medical diagnosis and cures and remissions have come a long way since
leukemia. was a death sentence. Lets hope and pray he is able to have
a bone marrow transplant if that is what he needs as there are many more
thousands on the register these days so matches happen much more often.
I am sure his family and the young lad himself will have all the
support he needs and will receive all through his treatment.
All the best
Phyl.
