Let’s Travel Together

I’m at the time of my life with not many ties but lots of energy so travel I will...with you hopefully. You might be a 65 yo woman from Sydney or a 71yo guy from Noosa but you won’t be under 60, you’ll have a happy personality and be a good communicator. BTW...looking for a travel partner to share a room but not a bed. Hopefully we’re both mature enough to handle that.

Travelling with a good compatible companion is sooo much better than by yourself thus I’d love you to join me for 2-3 trips each year overseas and in Australia. I want to go to ...Vietnam, Laos, Spain, Bali, Portugal, Cuba...I really want to go to Cuba, soon., Longreach, Winton, Great Ocean Road, beaches...lots of beaches...love beaches.

I’m a 72 yo Brisbane bloke, well travelled, love company, reasonably intelligent, reasonably articulate, love books, love movies, love theatre, love travel. I went to Morocco recently and loved it and I’m booked for India March 2019.

Enough talk, let’s meet and let’s go.

olbaid, this is the chance you've been waiting for. Good luck!

Not sure if this is meant for me or ???

Good one Micha.  Well written.

Seriously though Zicky might want to take one of the footy team.  Chuckle.....

Cheers Mick!

Zicky you present a light at the end of the tunnel. Hoping our resident troll “olbaid”, known also as the “Duchess”  contacts you. Maybe you hit it off, go on a cruise or something, then you find a good spot to dump him, preferably in some shark infested waters, LOL

I am a tad ashamed now, I wouldn’t wish the Duchess on my worst enemy. Hope you find a good mate to travel with. Bonne chance!

Too late for travelling in Aussie these days its like Pitt Street out there thank God I saw it when it was pristine -- as the last couple of times it has been downright shoulder to shoulder -- and so much has been ruined and nothing like it should be any more

I understand what you’re saying but still some great places with wonderful people to visit in Australia...Yamba is my “escape” or Uki or (strangely enough) Currumbin, even Mt Mee. Crowds are just hurdles not roadblocks but I wish you well PlanB

Hi Zicky, yes all those places are lovely -- I love the Border ranges as well-- such beauty there --

If you think Australia is like Pitt Street then don't go to the USA, Canada or Alaska as they are Pitt Street on steroids.

Yes Old Geezer -- they sure are -- wouldn't get m to those places for a million quid

Try New Zealand PlanB.  That could be plan B....and a nice spot on the planet.  Personally I'd be advising Japan (not on a tour!), Greece or the south of France.  Avoid Italy though.  The other three are all wonderful.

Maybe take Zicky?

Sounds good Zicky I did India March/April this year  love it and next trip South Africa  booked May next year I love travelling always got something on the drawing board,  that sometimes is the trouble when you want to share people have already been to the places you want to go but best of luck

I went to Cuba two years ago and absolutely loved it. I was there when Castro died -a momentous point in Cuba's history. Go soon Zicky.

Many thanks...looks like I’ll have to book soon.

Hi Zicky,
I've been looking for a travel companion for a while now.  I'm female and roughly in the same age group as you.
Fit and healthy, but not into mountaineering!
I was disappointed recently when I tried to book a trip (organised tour) to China.  The fine print said that as a single person I must buy TWO TICKETS.  There's always a surcharge, but double was a bit much from my point of view!
International travel for me is only once a year, but within Australia could be more.
I live in Victoria, but have also lived in Queensland. Have not seen the West yet. Otherwise have visited all states. Enjoyed each one! The family has grown and I'd like a companion with no strings attached.
Please feel free to reply and I'll have a look at this site from time to time.
Cheers for now.  Potential Travel Companion.

(Haven't written on this page before.  I think 'my name' is either Sal or Marika on here.  Neither is accurate  lol.
I'll give you my name in time, depending on your reply).

Hiya Zicky, am in the same boat and would love a like minded companion for travel single supplements are the worst, am off to India this month with my daughter but she will be unable to travel with me in the future. How do we make contact ?

Email perhaps [email protected]

Hope you guys perform criminal background and other checks - can't be too safe

Me - I'd rather travel solo than with a stranger , just saying

Hope YLC are carrying out checks on you olbaid regarding the spammers on this site.

Yes, I understand you....sounds as if you’d only do most things solo.

ROFLMBO ! olbat doesn't always travel solo, he takes his dog Petey with him, hahaha

On the one hand, I like the way you are being proactive Zicky, when it comes to finding companions to travel with without strings attached. On the other hand, olbaid has a point....one cannot be too careful! I hope the women who have professed interest will check you out well before committing.

Yes, it’s probably good to have a sad, negative, can’t see the rose only the thorns, naysayer like yourself to balance a happy, positive man like mois.

No need to be rude icky

you're beginning to sound like a sleaazeball

Your response should be a warning to the women interested Zicky. It was uncalled for. If you were a genuine sort of person you might have said something like: yes I understand this is a situation that calls for trust and I am open to proving my trustworthiness to those interested.

Well said Robi - icky's response should put off any self respecting woman

Hats off - Sometimes you make absolute sense

Shucks! You are telling me I make absolute sense? That is so unlike you!

I did say sometimes

Calm down everyone.  I've already requested the AFP and even the FBI to look into the background of a man called Zicky who apparently barracks for the Tigers.   I'll let you know the outcome!   Cheers, Sal.

You’re getting excited again Robi...is it ”sleaseball” or “sleaseball”. Perhaps try less brandy in your tea old girl.

Huh?  “...is it “sleaseball” or “sleaseball”?” Aren’t they the same? Is brandy your problem?

Good luck Sal but I don’t think Zicky is his real name :)

Make sure he’s not a Nigerian scam artist - that would be an even crappier outcome than getting stuck with an Aussie sleaseball.

Come on Sal....you could at least go to more exotic agencies such as Interpol, MI6 or Mossad but you may have to explain those to Mrs and Mr Troll. Enjoying the banter. Thanks.

And then there are dirty buggers who prey on lonely women

Rob them blind in the process

Just recently there was the case of a lady killed on a cruiseship, another "accidently fell" off one

Ignore these two attack dogs Zicky. Wondering why men should be the ones to watch suspiciously. Women are on equal footing when it comes to conning people and trafficking drugs.

“Attack dogs” Ray? Mr and Mrs Troll ? About as fearsome as Peppa Pig dolls, that pair, but thank you very much.

Wow Zicky I cant believe the trolls who are targeting you.  I travel solo mainly because of some bad experiences sharing with a woman I met a few years ago on a trip - we had some good holidays together until we went overseas and then it all blew up into a massive meltdown.  So now I pay the single supplement and have peace of mind.  But I do agree it becomes very expensive when its an overseas trip.  Just doesnt seem fair to have to pay almost double the price.  Good luck - I hope you find someone you can share travel expenses with.

Many thanks Miss Marg,

These trolls are, unfortunately MOSTLY lonely men with way too much time on their hands. Thanks for your story re your overseas holiday with a woman - sad it ended that way. FYI...I’ve booked a trip early next year, albeit only 10 days, sharing with a bloke I’ve not set eyes upon...so you think that even same sex partner can have problems. I’ll let you know how it goes - he does sound like a good, honest bloke ....and he’s a Queenslander so he must be OK

Have a great day Miss Marg.

It must be ten years since I visited India Zicky..if it is your first time you will be enchanted. I don't know which part of the country you will be touring..but..may I suggest Rajasthan and Kerala as part of your itinerary...both spectacular!

Good to see you are not fazed by the two miserable so and sos..and hope you find a nice travel companion :)
