Life is a series of anecdotes . The Filipino  maids call the driver drebar , which I assume is pidgin for driver . The car is a 2012 5 litre XJ long wheelbase . Got picked up yesterday at the airport by him holding up a sign with just my Christian name.

At Tamirind Springs now it's in a rain forest but so close .

That is pretty central, how great to have lived there. My late grandfatherr came from the East End of London and left in 1930.

Welcome home Thea.

How did you find Fiji?

Bula!

Image result for welcome in fiji  Lovely spot to relax!  Image result for Fijian Police Band

We love to hear the Fijian Police Band they are really good at making music, are always happy and helpful.  They create a holiday mood.

Good morning Ann..later in the day I would love to tell you about my little jaunt..I am only on my first cup of coffee!

It's a gorgeous place and made even more so by the people..genuine happy folk..

The last time I went to Fiji was to Castaway Island with the children . Great family resort . We took the seaplane out and back directly from the airport .

Have you been to Tonga?    That is similar, but it has not had the tourist spots built on it, looked quite poor when we went there three years ago.

But I am glad I went.  We are going to Tahiti later in the year.

Was going to Montereal and Alaska and come back via the Panama, but decided against it due to the goings on in Washington DC.

I did go to Tonga once . It was in the seventies and my rep for the Pacific had made the King of Tonga an Agent .

Hey Brocky

How's it going in Tioman?

Still in KL Raph

Thanks Ann I am sure Cats will dream . Let's all help Cats realise her dream ..

In spite of living so close - I've never felt the urge to holiday oin Fiji or any of the other pacific islands

I'm serioulsy considering living for a month or 2 in Bali next year

Don't do it it's Bogensville .

never been to Bougainville

Milne Bay and the Trobrian Island is beautiful

Alythough DO NOT visit the Trobes during yam festival

Its legally allowed for women to gang rape men during this season

Rape in the Trobrian Islands Yam Festival

I don't know but I've been told that in the Trobrian Islands off the coast of Papua New Guinea, the women rape the men, during the yam festival.

The primary food of the Trobrian Islanders is yams. A yam is shaped like a male penis and during the annual yam festival gangs of girls will grab a man, drag him off and rape him. This poses such a danger to the male population that men commonly walk in groups of two or three to protect themselves.

Trobrian Islander GirlTrobrian Islands Girl

At first I did not believe this story, but there is enough evidence for it to merit further investigation.

For example, one Australian man reported that he had been raped twice by gangs of Trobrian girls. It was a terrifying experience when it first happened but, after he got used to it, it was not so bad after all, he said.

Naturally you will want to investigate this for anthropological research purposes of course, but the Trobrian Islands, also spelled Trobriand, are not easy to reach. The Trobrian Islands are located off the eastern tip of Papua New Guinea and south of the Island of New Britain.

The Yam Festival only happens once a year, in August, so be sure not to go there at that time or this cruel fate could befall you too!

Two major factors which may contribute to this are that the yams which the Trobrian Islanders eat contain natural hormones which prevent child conception. Therefore, Trobrian girls almost never get pregnant during the Yam Festival. The Trobrian Islanders are so primitive that they do not even realize that sexual intercourse leads to conception and child birth. They are among the many primitive tribes who are not aware of the link between sex and babies being born.

Here is a picture of a typical Trobrian Islander girl. I am sure that you will agree that it would be a horrible experience to be raped by such a girl.

Sam Sloan

I think Sam Sloan is actually Shaggy Dog

Is there a direct flight to the Trobian Islands

Air Niugini

Cairns to Alotau, Milne Bay

Then on speed boat to Trobes.

bodies rubbed with pig oil to keep warm

And how can one forget the sight of women breasfeedling little piglets

True story Raph . The guy had been trained in Oz .But had to go back to the village to fight .

He was a good pilot and took me over the highlands .

He flew me from Madang to Moresby .

I know - I wasnt mocking it

And Ive actually seen those highlanders with bones , penis guard and that awful pig oil

Chembu women breasfeed their little pigs

On this trip we did Lae Madang wee wak and Mt Hagan . It was Hairy to say the least ,

So the last time I did Fiji with the Children I did a pacific round Robin . I flew Sydney Queenstown then drove Mt Cook to Christchurch flew C to Auckland then drove to Bay of Islands then back to. sukland then flew to Nandi then out to Islands then back to Syders .
