Lawrie Oakes strikes again, and

The supposed electorate-swinging announcements were shoved aside at the Press Club when Lawrie Oakes asked Gillard several questions relating to her welching on an agreement, as soon as Rudd's back was turned, in a bid to gain the leadership at any costs. No wonder her lips remained sealed, or it would expose her for the ruthless power crazy creature she is.

Those Laborites who are so proud of Gillard's work on Fair Work should be made aware that employers are skirting all Gillard's efforts and employing workers as sub-contractors and its been going on for years. There have been dozens of calls to Adelaide talk-back radio this week where hotel and call centre staff etc have been employed as sub-contractors and forced to get an ABN.

Those who have tried reporting this to the Fair Work Office have been told there is a mountain of paperwork to fill in so its all a bit too hard. Besides once the prospective boss gets wind of being reported your job will bite the dust anyway. This pathetic response rather than Fair Work get off their lazy arses and carry out spot checks on organisations where its rife. This is just another Labor scheme thats been introduced without ANY thought given to its operation and regulation. Just like the insulation and BER schemes to name just two? Honestly this mob couldnt organise a bloody chook raffle.

As the radio announcer said Labor cant run a fear campaign on Abbott re-introducing Work Choices while this crap is allowed to fester under Gillard's Fair Work scheme.

"Move forward with Labor"? Yeah right, we should all trust the red-head who has wasted BILLION$ of our money? Not bloody likely.

I agree Tanwin--but there is NOT a lot of choice--with Abbott and his mob the only other--no good voting Greens either--and no matter who you vote for as I have said b4 only one of the big two will get in--and if their lips are moving they are lying

Interesting to read that Labor are calling on thousands of Unionists to fight Abbott with, one can only guess, spreading the fear of the reintroduction of Work Choices which I believe is political poison and well and truly dead. In all honesty Gillard, who promised to SCRAP Work Choices, only tinkered around the edges so the bulk of it remains, except some unfair dismissal clauses.

The Greens have an 'open door' policy on Illegal Immigrants and must be avoided like the plague. Plus they have a ETS policy that is ridiculously severe and will tax us all (especially pensioners) into poverty

Yes quite a dilemma as who to vote for--I really don't want to waste my vote but I sure don't like the choices

Only one way to vote and that is for the ones who do the least damage to the economy and don't spend our money on stupid schemes.

No matter how hard they try the zealots who follow Labor slavishly cannot defend this government and say this lot has proved to be a

"good government".

I am a swinging voter who wants the best I can get for me and mine as do we all unless stupid! Best for me and mine usually is best for all of us anyway is it not?

So I will again this time around vote Liberal as we will only get 3 Candidates Liberal, Labor or Green.

None of us have got the best out of Labor - hiking prices for electricity gas and petrol plus food and no real hike in income and this harping on working families and the unproductive reference in the Henry Report about age pensioners worries me as we know Rudd was reluctant to pay us any more and delayed the rise for months and then only gave $30 which by that time even singles were behind and another 3 years may see this proven.

Under the previous government apart from world oil price hike causing petrol and food prices to rise the Coalition kept an even keel and got a 24% increase in wages which gave most a good standard of living.

Labor has proved they cannot manage our money in every government from 1974 to 1996 and now in the 21st Century Rudd and Gillard along with Swan and Tanner have managed to run up the highest debt and deficit we know about on record.

Plus every single thing they have tried to do cost us millions in wasted dollars which would be far better spent on all of us for hospitals education and pensions.

On top of that they were responsible for the loss of 4 lives plus the loss of over 100+ homes when all the time they were warned it has come out not to go ahead with the scheme as these troubles would dog it and they went ahead regardless and it came to pass as already written in advice.

Add the fact that all their "green" policies are already costing us dearly on our electricity and energy prices already and the ETS would put this up even higher - we are getting a double dipping of tax on electricity and gas because of these policies on something we do not know exists because no government has held an inquiry into the leaking of the emails showing the cover up and left out data which went to prove AGW and which says if this happened it never was warming but they plough on seemingly as they top bods will do very nicely out of making us all so poor we will sit cold and hungry in the dark. Which we will whilst overseas they will riot as they have begun to do over prices of electricity and this is why many government were too scared to go on with a carbon tax on top of the green tax already on everywhere in the world.

We still are not finished finding out just how bad it really is as we don't get to see the books nor in fact do the Opposition until they change over.

So on the day you go into vote think of yourself your family and grand kids futures and for their sake vote Liberal/National Coalition.

Don't just vote for the party because you are a long term supporter it is not a footy match it is your life you are voting on.

A vote for the Greens in the lower house will just mean their preference vote will go to Labor.

Yes it is important Val--thats why I will never vote for Abbott I would rather waste my vote b4 I did that

It surprises me that people like BigVal can say they are swinging voters. She has said previously on this forum that she has not voted for labor for 50 years and she says she would not vote for the greens so how can she be a swinging voter, well, unless somewhere along the line she voted for the Nationals.

Let us look at what Bernie Fraser said on the 7:30 Report

Which amazes me, frankly, how any alternative prime minister, alternative government can put the interests, the vested interests of big mining countries ahead of the national interests of this country. It's just incredible to my way of thinking. Whoever has sort of devised that line really has rocks in his or her head.

Not only will the opposition oppose the tax which means they oppose the reduction in tax to the business community and oppose the increase in superannuation to the Australian population.

The opposition is catering to the big mining companies to get support and will do anything to try and get power.

Quote Big Val

and the unproductive reference in the Henry Report about age pensioners worries me

And it should BigVal as the present government has rejected that as you well know, but continue to go on about as a typical political scare campaign - you should worry because the libs will adopt that part of the report.

Tony Abbott has said the work choices is dead , but he will revive it using another name, that is obvious.

The Liberal team is all for big business as that is where their funding comes from and against the workers and pensioners which is obvious from their previous policies.

Oh! here we go, poor fwed has been listening to Labor spin and has already made up his mind on something thats pure BS. Fair Work is just another name for Work Choices fwed with a little bit of fiddling around the edges with unfair dismissal clauses. Another broken Labor promise to SCRAP Work Choices that only part- happened.

Next you will be telling us the readhead has fixed the Mining Tax (also under a new name) that is already starting to unravel.

You must be a lonely old person tanwin, nothing interesting to do but to come here to throw around insults and complain about Jessica Watson's teeth.

Get a life.

Labor has made one major boo boo with the late announcement of the

election. The Electoral Commission has just made a media announcement

that the Electoral Roll will be closed off at 8.00 PM on Monday. Anybody who

has turned 18 in the last year & has not yet enrolled, will most likely not do

so by Monday. Most first time voters vote Labor, so this will cost Labor a

significant number of votes.

You are able to ring 132326

to enrole or make sure you are on the roll

Isn't it wonderful to be a citizen of a free and democratic country where we elect those who will govern us? It would be if we had any politicians or political parties with any shred of honesty, integrity or true belief in serving those who elected them. What use is democracy when you have no one to vote for?

You are correct PlanB. 18 year olds can phone, or go in person, or

register over the net, BUT, they wont, at least not by Monday evening.

I have reminded my grandson, an apprentice landscape gardener, who

turned 18 recently, & his reply was that none of his mates down the

pub had mentioned it & there had been no mention on 2JJJ, the kids

hard rock station. I will ask him, on Tuesday, if he has enrolled, but I

know the answer. The fact, is that there are reportedly, over 100,000

non enrolled citizens, under 30, of which, most are under 20. If only

5,000 of these attempted to enroll on Monday, it would totally jam the

system. SO, it wont happen.

You are right Innes they --"most"--really couldn't care less and don't realise just what it means to be able to have the right to vote--all they care about is themselves and NOW

In December 2009 it was estimated that just under 1.4 million eligible electors were not enrolled to vote.

Joe Ludwig has said boosting voter numbers had been made more difficult since the coalition changed the rules so that rolls close on the day election writs are issued, usually within a couple of days of an election being called.

The Government wants to restore the cut-off period to seven days after writs are issued but

the opposition has voted against these reforms in the House of Representatives, and has announced it will attempt to block them in the Senate.
