Ladies fight to save Chaddy Bowls Club

The ladies of the Chadstone Bowls Club in Victoria are fighting against a Stonnington Council decision to demolish the club in favour of a new $25-million indoor stadium.

The council is still deciding if it will go ahead with the idea, much to the chagrin of the bowls club members. One 90-year-old member has stated that he will chain himself to the fenceto save it. Terry Foster, 82, Janine Hall, 82, and Wyn Hewett, 72 decided to film a viral video, dancing on the greens and singing of their love for the club.

They are hoping it will get Stonnington Council's attention. It's certainly getting attention on scial media, with 14k views on Facebook and over 27,500 views on YouTube.

What do you think of these ladies? Pretty specal huh? How far would you go to save your special sites?

Love it! Good on you ladies such a great example.. and eat your heart out Beyonce...

That's what it's all about...fight for what you believe in!

Fantastic ladies. I only hope the Council will rethink their plans. The Council in my area have no conscience when it comes to pulling down heritage buildings. They have ruined the area, for what, massive buildings to house apartments which the young first home buyers cannot afford. You go girls, fight with all your might.
