Labor must have two leaders, neither is Albo

Doesn't matter what the subject is, there is always a bobble-head Kristina Keneally or Penny Wong filling the TV screen, mouth going like a band saw through a log.

The Woke womansplaining must be because Albanese, one of those reviled and unnecessary old white men is incapable and superfluous.

LJ put any politician from either side of the House in front of a camera and behind them they will all have a posse of 'bobbleheads' -otherwise known as Noddies - nodding in unison.

Oh dear KSS ... that reminds me of

"Tony Abbott's nodding — 24 seconds of silence".

Quite bizarre at the time and rather sad IMO.

OMG did you have to bring that up??

If old white man Albo is talking alone in the Canberra wasteland and there is no-one to hear,

   does it really matter

where Kristina Keneally and Pwong are already womansplaining for him anyhow?

Albo has shown some leadership qualities, by standing up to Setka and his gang of thugs. He is doing what no-one has dared do in Labor for years.I wonder which corner Shorten is cowering in.

In complete agreement Aviator and he didn't need his female front benchers to do it for him.

Agreed.  Kevin Rudd was the only other senior Labor politician to challenge the factions that operate behind closed doors to direct the party.  -Especially intolerable when Labor is in government, where the elected representatives should decide policy with the leader being allowed to lead.

Albo is already hogtied through having to allocate roles to members already nominated for him.

Overlaid is the undemocratic affirmative action imperative that gives a leg-up to self-promoting, ineffective human headlines like Ms Keneally and Pwong.  The last mentioned has already failed in ministerial roles in the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd governments.  Keneally has a record of failure too - in State politics after being given a leg-up as well.

Albo's considered action on Setka was immediately diminished by Keneally, Pwong and the other incompetent clown with the big mouth, Sally McManus.  According to them, it was all about Rosie B and Labor is now in contortions to manage its positioning on Setka.

We don't need your mysogonistic, right-wing rubbish.Thank you.

"We" who?? Who are you speaking for? Free forum, free speech, got it?

Thank you for your comment Aviator which I agree with.

ABE,

I think you have the wrong end of the stick on this one. I believe Rod63's post is directed at LJ ..not Aviator.

Of course Rod63 is correct when he says and I quote "mysogonistic, right-wing rubbish."..that's exactly what it is.

I suppose this thread opened the forum up to particularly partisan and gender related comments. In that, i can't see anything too problematic since it is an affirmation of freedom of speech and it gives a clue as to what we are dealing with.

Beyond this thread however, is there really any need to denigrate by politics, gender persuasion or whatever? Issues should be able to be valued on their own account leaving others to judge the political representation appropriate to their priority and value system.

On the underlying issue here; Setka's supposed comments. There appears to be some doubt that he said what has been inferred. Whether he did or not even avowed conservatives here tend to applaud Albanese's line that he should be removed from the Labor party and Union leadership. That line did accept that it is the union's call.

I suspect that Australia does not value greatly from Mr. Setka's leadership of this union and I am swayed to believe that an element of thuggery exists under that leadership but his comment about males and a nominal link with Rosie Batty is the meat in this issue. Mr. Albanese's call is a failure to look beyond the hoo-hah to the causes. Few yarns take hold without at least some, however scant, thread of truth or other relevance. Identify that and deal with it objectively.

-'McManus concedes that Mr Setka did not denigrate Rosie Batty'

My apologies Rod63.

Blame it on a very excellent glass of Margaret River red.

Yep, I agree with you we don't need LJ's "mysogonistic, right-wing rubbish".

LJ, the hysterical outrage by Albo and others, the jumping at shadows after only 2 weeks of bedding down the new leadership team, has been quite comical. John Setka must have a good old belly laugh at times.

Labor is very fortunate to have so many strong, intelligent, articulate and empathetic women in Parliament.

As an LNP supporter..I hope we catch up and soon!

Albo is hoping that on the surface people will view his attack on John Setka as some sort of leadership quality which they didnt see in Bill Shorten. Perhaps viewed as Albo taking the ALP in a new direction, to go where no man or woman has gone before. What rot. LOL

After every election the Labor Party reward those who gave the party some impetus and attack those who worked against them as Setka did. Let's be clear many in Labor would harbour a grudge against Setka for what he did during the election campaign. This has nothing to do with a "he said she said" closed room meeting. This is about Labor trying to stop Adani, something which will haunt Labor for as long as franking credits. More than 8,000 badly needed new long term jobs in regional Queensland which Setka and his rusted on union pals fought for at the ballot box against Labor and the Greens. I wonder if Setka had known Shorten's position on Adani months out from the election would the CFMMEU have donated $1M to their campaign? What Setka did was stand by his union members and that's why he wont be going anywhere.

This is a very bad look for Labor and in particular for Albo and his leadership attack dogs.

Setka now "threatening" to withdraw funding to Labor Party...only one winning this "carry on" is the Libs

Agree. From a political viewpoint the new Labor leadership team should have prosecuted their case for Setka's removal from the Labor Party with some solid reasoning. Not the flimsy argument that Setka said something which we cannot repeat because we dont know what it was and those who know arent saying.

Albo,,,nice guy...not prime ministeral material though!

Yes I feel Labor would be better off with Richard Marles, Albanese's deputy, as shadow Prime Minister.

Jim Chalmers from QLD I felt would have been a better choice as well.

What a pity that the discussion has come to male v female and personalities instead of polices.

All Albo needs to do is rearrange his vocal chords or go to a voice makover class

I rarely comment on people's appearance, but thinking out aloud if thats allowed these days? Would his presence be improved by a toothbrush moustache while he's waithing for them to drop?

Agree Reagan

He so so needs some Elocution Lessons, his tone is so irritating to the ear

Image result for piglet image   .... sounds like a piglet squeal.

Albo has a speech impediment and can not help it -- it is a form of disability -- Ita Buttross also has one -- should they be held responsible for that!?

That os being a bit cruel IMO

....almost as bad as Gillard....always turned sound off when she was talking
