What I meant is that a long life is usually attrributable to genetic inheritance. Oh, and not paying attention to that idiotic woman who sent you the white feather to go and get killed in one of Europe's wars. -

Which reminds me, when Ms Broderick the Sex Discrimination Commissioner finishes her contract job on the Oz military, men will be able to send women white feathers, demanding that they get themselves off to the trenches in time of war. Yay for equality, all who vote for war should have an equal opportunity to partake in the 'glory'.

Cuddling IS very nice Nautilus but what does GF stand for?

Don't worry PlanB, you are not the only one.

You young ones miss out on a lot, Nautilus was saying

that during the great wars women who thought a man

looked fit enough to be in uniform,

would send him a 'white feather' denoting cowardice.

I know about the white feather but I thought it he/she was referring that I had sent one or had one sent to me ?

Plan B No, it was just a reference I would say, unless

it was fwed, He made a bouquet out of his white feathers.

No, nothing you had done. While I was commenting on this thread I was reminded of something else, by association. A wry thought that equality as interpreted by the grim gender warriors of feminism is standing up in a council bus, raunching at the pub, being a wage slave and now, serving on the front line in conflict.

I hated the smell of kerosene heaters.

We had a kero fridge once and combed kerosene through the hair to kill off lice and nits.

So that was the origin of the nick 'fire pants'?

nick 'fire pants'?

Sorry, I don't get the connection.

'Fire pants' is a nickname for redheads.

Fire is a possibility when using kero for de-lousing.
