KEEPING UP WITH THE ASIANS
I've just seen the news, and there is to be a "dramatic increase" in expenditure on equipment for the Royal Australian Navy, in order to keep pace with the Asians. I thought our esteemed Prime Minister was a good friend of the Asians, so why do we need to keep up with them? Are they a threat after all? Also, we have a massive shortage of recruits for all our services (I won't get started on compulsory national service), so where do we find the personnel to man this increase in equipment?
We don't need to defend Australia, it's too late for that. Foreign investment owns this country, so why would anyone want to attack us, they already own us.
Mr. Rudd and his cohorts refuse to fix the plight of seniors, same for health, education, homelessness, water sustainability etc. etc. As has been said elsewhere in this forum, where are his priorities? Certainly not with the people of Australia.
Agree with al those points. Do you watch RSPCA Rescue on 7 - I do it is pitiful what is done to dogs and cats by people and I do think they are too soft today and that is not helpful. They try to educate the owners but some need more than that and should never be allowed to keep another dog or cat or any animal.

Yes I do watch it most time when I can--and am appalled the way these poor animals are treated--and not only should they be never allowed to own another animal they should have severe punishment --maybe jail as well--maybe even the punisment should fit the crime. It is quite disturbing the way a lot of people think that animals have no feelings.
