Just arrived from the old forum

Hi everyone,

Just come over from the old forum and hope to get aquainted as time goes on. I'm not a prolific poster but hope to meet some nice people.

Born and raised in Scotland but been here in Australia for forty-odd years and very proud to be an Australian.

There ... I'm in ... Noo where's the wee button to send this. ;-)

No they did not.

Maybe work is still happening on the site???

By the looks of this I guess I'll just stay here and forget the forum, seeing you're all turning up here. ;-P

Yes I imagine that Greg has his hands full at the moment and changes will happen at a gradual pace ........Quality of the site will improve also otherwise it all becomes too hard and futile ................I am going to play it by ear so to speak......... ;-)

koko, and any others that kept your old names, how did you do that? I have tried many ways but always get rejected. So now I am no longer bobf. I am now bobagain.

And I will have to do as others have said. I will watch how things go but for now I am disappointed with the layout. Maybe I will like it better after I follow it for a while.

I have a Yahoo connection but I hardly ever go there as I find it a bit too busy on the screen.

Bob, I simply went through the normal registration process, and was accepted.

I agree it takes some getting used to the layout, and I'm still having problems finding my way around the bits and pieces.

Anyway, glad you finally got in.

Like you, I'll hang around for a while, and see how it all evolves.

Yes, you'll get used to the layout if you stick with it Bob. I'm a wee bit bias towards phpbb forums myself - I've been running the latest version on my Scottish site since the start of the year and some years prior to that on the previous version.

This will grow on you and I'm sure it will become second nature to you to navigate and post :-)

Hughie

I would really like to have my old name of Jane--how can I do that

Hi Jane,

I see that the name Jane has already been taken - there are so many dead usernames in there it's not funny. So hard to find scrolling through the member's names.

You might be able to re-register varying the user name you want. But you might find if you use the same e-mail address you've already used it will be rejected.

Hughie :)

Yes I did try a few times but Jane was rejected--I only have the one email addy

Hi again Jane,

You look as if you'd be a regular poster here. Seems to me that's what this site is in need of. What I'd suggest is clicking on the link at the bottom of the page "Contact Us" and asking for help.

It looks like that username has been abandoned anyway - they've never posted. I think if I was the administrator I'd be happy to fix that up for you knowing you'd be a genuine contributer.

Hughie ~ away for a wee walk ...

Yes might contact the mods and see --BTW sounds like you are Scott as well--well I am of that decent --1st generation
