John McCain's Sons

This mail item came to me from a dear friend in America and whilst I have not verified the corectness of it I do believe it to be true

John McCain's Sons

Something's you haven't seen from the media.....
Talk about putting your most valuable where your mouth is! Apparently this was not "newsworthy"enough for the media to comment about. Can either of the other presidential candidates truthfully come close to this? ... Just a question for each of us to seek an answer, and not a statement.

You see...character is what's shown when the public is not looking. There were no cameras or press invited to what you are about to read about, and the story comes from one person in New Hampshire.

One evening last July, Senator John McCain of Arizona arrived at the New Hampshire home of Erin Flanagan for sandwiches, chocolate-chip cookies and a heartfelt ta lk about Iraq . They had met at a presidential debate, when she asked the candidates what they would do to bring home American soldiers; soldiers like her brother, who had been killed in action a few months earlier.

Mr. McCain did not bring cameras or press. Instead, he brought his youngest son, James McCain, 19, then a private first class in the Marine Corps about to leave for Iraq . Father and son sat down to hear more about Ms. Flanagan's brother Michael Cleary, a 24-year-old Army First Lieutenant killed by an ambush ... a roadside bomb.

No one mentioned the obvious: In just days, Jimmy McCain could face similar perils. 'I can't imagine what it must have been like for them as they were coming to meet with a family that ......' Ms. Flanagan recalled, choking up. 'We lost a dear one,' she finished.

Mr. McCain, now the presumptive Republican nominee, has staked his candidacy on the promise that American troops can bring stability to Iraq . What he almost never says is that one of them is his own son, who spent seven months patrolling Anbar Province and learned of his father's New Hampshire victory in January while he was digging a stuck military vehicle out of the mud.

Two of Jimmy's three older brothers went into the military. Doug McCain, 48, was a Navy pilot. Jack McCain, 21, is to graduate from the Naval Academy next year, raising the chances that his father, if elected, could become the first president since Dwight D. Eisenhower with a son at war.

I chose to share this with those who I believe will pass it on, to others who w ill pass it on. We hear so much inflated trash out there. How about a simple act of kindness ... and dedication to others placed above oneself?

Has anybody heard if Barack Hussein Obama has served in The American Armed Services?

Please note that the last part of this email is not exact. Here is the correct verbiage from the book.:
I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
This statement is a rewording of a passage from page 261 of The Audacity of Hope, in which Barack Obama spoke of the importance of not allowing inflamed public opinion to result in innocent members of immigrant groups being stripped of their rights, denied their due as American citizens, or placed into confinement, as was done with Japanese-Americans during World War II. The original contains no specific mention of "Muslims":

In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

This is for all you Barack voters.

From Barack's book, Audacity of Hope:

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
HE DID NOT SAY STAND WITH AMERICANS!!!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm--- Interesting---I wonderig it is true--his name does say quite a lot too

"his name does say quite a lot too "

I am not sure what you mean by that. His father was from Kenya. His name is African. I am not particularly interested in the American political scene, and I don't think we can really say for sure where his allegiances lie - but he is an African/American by birth.

I think the concern that many folks have is that his father was Isamic and Obama's middle name is Hussein. I think also his mothers second husband was Islamic.

Obama claims he was never Islamic so I guess we just do not know. A lot of stories go around about this person. Another thing about Obama is his declaration that he is going to socialize the US government as much as he can. That is a scary subject for many in the US. I wish Hillary had made the presidential candidate position. She is far less a threat to our government than Obama is.

Of course that is only my opinion, which by todays polls is about half the country voters. This should make an exciting 6 months till the election is over.

.

I guess it is exciting for the residents of the USA, but most of us here(and this website is primarily Australian)don't really know enough about it to get incolved.

Its not a matter of getting involved even if we wanted to but World events impinge upon us here in Australia especially American events .............I think tthat it is well that we take notice of what is going on and a new President will be elected later this year ...............He will have a profound effect on us all ...........

Of course, you are right, but we have no choice in the matter, and frankly you would have to search far and wide to find a poitician who is not just in it for money and power, actually gives a rats for the constituents, and is worth two bob.Whoever gets elected will not be worth s**t . I think we have yet to see a truly honest and caring Amarican president.

Yes I agree Clay--as we are going "Global" these days and will become more so--what goes on the the USA does have a lot to do with us.

How ever I am not at all keen on Clinton

Or any polly for that matter any where

I think we have yet to see a truly honest and caring Amarican president.

Thats quite a generalisation and there have been a few good ones I am glad to say ..............

And they would be......?

A bigger question is what the future presidents will do. I think that there have been some very good presidents in the past, but they are now past. At the present the US has a good, well provided military, that can be almost anywhere in the world to help for these natural disasters, or for defense purposes. Obama wants to start dismantling our military. Says he wants to spend the money at home for his socialized ambitions.

Is this wise? I really don't think so. We have no major problems in our present government, except the way our congress is wasting lots of money on personal 'pork', which is wasted money.

Obama is also wanting to quite the Iraq war just as the war is being won. This is a major threat to the middle east as it leaves the entire area open to Iran's control. All the oil of the middle east under the control of a radical state that intends to be nuclear soon. Not a wise move at all.

Obama has also said he would just go into Pakistan and get bin Laden. How wise is that move. For the US to attack within Pakistan without their permission is asking for even greater problems. We now have the support of the UN to work within Afghanistan to help stabilize them but no permission for invading Pakistan. How wise is Obama's decision? It is true that bin Laden is hiding in Pakistan and crossing over into Afghanistan on raids. But without Pakistan's permission we are limited to what ever Pakistan is offering to help stop bin Laden activities.

There is a lot to worry about for our future presidents. It is reasons like this that many of the US are very concerned about the Obama person, rather than the lessor concerns for Hillary.

How will McCain work out? For our military, much better. For some issues like drilling oil, probably no better than Obama. For spending money, probably better than Obama with less wasted on government funded programs. Who really knows today. All we can do is make our best choice between the two. Maybe it will be the choice of the lessor of two evils.

And as has been pointed out, this world is becoming more and more integrated in business and government interactions. So how our elections end up may have lots to do with other countries futures.

If you arer really interested have a read of this

I would not vote for this peron in a fit...........and God help us if he by some silly chance he gets elected ..........

If you start with fifty lies and only 22 were challenged by Snopes, then there are 28 unchallenged.

I guess that is why so many folks in the US are upset that he is running for President. A large percent of Hillary's disappointed fans have said they will not vote for Obama. Of course we don't know how they will honor their statements as they could just not vote, vote for McCain, or vote a write in like Hillary.
