John Lennon's Imagine reimagined

To commemorate 35 years since the passing of John Lennon, American recording artist Sir Ivan, AKA Peaceman, AKA Ivan Wilzig, has released the first ever uptempo version of John Lennon's song Imagine.

"In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, and to pay respect to John Lennon, who passed away 35 years ago, on December 8th 1980, it is an appropriate time for a new generation to listen to Lennon's optimistic lyrics, which offer hope to all people on the planet and a formula for world peace," said Sir Ivan.

It seems even more appropriate since the Belgian bombings this week.

Have a listen and tell us what you think. Is it well done? Or are the classics best left alone?

Fre.king awful.!!!...

Can't improve on the original....The brilliance and power of the original lies to some extent in its reflective pace - Leave it alone!.....Sounds like some sort of disco version of the song - but worse...

I didn't want to be the first to say it!

Don't like it at all.  Nothing better than the original.

Why do they have to muck about with things like this ???

Like Shetso1 "Leave it Alone".  This just defaces his memory.

Nothing can ever improve on John Lennon,s version !!!!!!!

Perhaps you miss the point if you concentrate on the medium and not the message. I imagine that John L would be delighted that this 'version' of his message is getting to a wider audience. By all means enjoy your old recordings in private but please listen to the message again.

"No religion too" actually got John's message suppressed in some cultures. I think it is a timely re-release of a fundamental question. What in the world is wrong with human beings, it doesn't have to be like this, imagine if ........???
