It is raining

March is nearly over and so far we have had the wettest March on record.
Up to date in March we have had 1604 mm (63 inches) and it is still coming down.
This is on top of wet months since September

To put it in some sort of perspective Brisbane during the floods had 460mm last December and 316mm in January.

Melbourne's average annual rainfall is 639mm

Needless to say we cannot drive very far, but as we do not live in a capital city it does not make news.

Sure has been an amazing Summer here in Latrobe Valley barely a

brown blade of grass to be seen - our back lawn is a veritable wet sponge.

..

We well remember two years ago and the cinders all over our roof and

our house black as the ace of spades along with all the other homes

as Churchill very close to us was on fire and we were in danger also as

there were fires all around and deaths which was devastating of course.

..

Strange Melbourne will still keep water restrictions (and us also).

..

I still get annoyed to see all the water flooding down all the drains

is not recycled somehow for many things - no not drinking or

bathing in, but still good water for recycling to use for the gardens etc.

And yet we here have had one of the driest summers--

The past summer has been the first where the lawns

haven't dried up,they have remained green,

The chap doing the lawns said he is finding it hard work

keeping up with all the work as usually he has an

easier time when the lawns brown off.
