Internet explorer is not a safe browser ever!
I was really taken aback at the number of people still using Internet Explorer 80%. Any one of its versions - whether it be IE6 or IE7 or the new IE8 beta - still have more bugs than my roses and I spray mine regularly which is more than Microsoft does with theirs:( This flaw they are patching has been known abut by them for 7 years they reported on the News and hackers have found it and use it to get your on line banking and other private info - Blooming heck!!
.
Please just because it was there - does not mean it is the only browser you can use - there are alternatives and they are free. I had problems getting on this site whilst the Web Master was away but most didn't so used IE as I could access it with IE>
.
Best imo is Firefox and they have just brought out Firefox 3 which is far more secure as it is an open based browser which means many hands at work helping if bugs develop and is often updated. Far more than II has been in the many years I have had window$.
.
There is also Netscape and Opera and some folk rave about these - I have tried them all and Firefox beats the hell out of all of them.
.
Lots of good add ons too and easy to get and use. Like dictionary and other goodies to help.
.
Plus Firefox has an inbuilt password user name log in manager - never again have to remember once you tell Firefox to do it for you and on the new FF3 it has a menu drop down for you to mark - remember - or dont or later.
.
I already have my patch for IE as I have updates from Microsoft on auto so it does it for me. You cannot get rid of IE6 it is a part of windows and some sites need it so you have to keep it but can roll back IE7 and presumably IE8. I rolled back 7 as it just didn't work on my computer - probably one of my programs may upset it but IE6 is good enough.
.
Also of course one of the add on for Firefox is an IE Tab so that those sites you know need IE like Daily Mail UK you can right click and get an IE tab.
.
Here is the link to get Firefox 3.
.
give it a try - bookmarks are easier as you can double right click on star on URL and it will keep the site for you.

They also do Thunderbird which is an email program that many like - me I am a into Emotions and E Cards and all that Incredible stuff as well as business like plain e mails so use Incredimail.
It is a snifty program and I have had it for years - paid version too - that good! - if you ask for a receipt - and the person does not read it just deletes it - it comes back on its own and tells you - caught our Barnaby Joyce like that deleted after 7 months unread and others - so if you email Politicians etc - nifty and sneaky - I don't know of one other that does that. Also can bounce a spam and it will look as if your email address is not existing and block a second try. Saves money on Junk Mail and I am starting to get it now that my ISP wants me to pay extra to stop it - wonder why - greed at work alert
:):):)
.
Free with ads Link.
.
www.incredimail.com. and hit download at top of page.
.
BTW first time you use it it will do all the necessary for you dont have to worry about setting it up just go with auto set up and it will import your settings from your current email. Then you can make it your default or just use it now and then.
.
PS if you are already a geek - dont bother as you know it all anyway rolling on floor laughing do miss the emotions here!!!!
I'm not a geek - not even a semi geek - or even a partial geek. But then, I don't use my computer to pay bills or do anything else except log onto sites that interest me. If some-one wants to steal my password - that's fine - I have unlimited downloads - albeit rather slow. Seems to me that the geeks have the problem, not people like me.
