Interesting, thanks Toot.

Ha Ha Ha Ha !!! Good one Toot.

A sea of 650,000 white flags - one for every person who died from coronavirus in the US - is taking shape in front of the Washington Monument at the National Mall.

Still lots of resistance to the vaccine in the US, very hard to understand their thinking.

A dozen of the state’s top cardiologists were forced into isolation and multiple urgent heart procedures cancelled after two unvaccinated nurses worked while infectious with COVID-19 at a major Sydney hospital.  Critical procedures, including angiograms, pacemakers, stent and valve replacements, were called off at St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst last week after the nurses worked shifts across at least four cardiac wards.

One senior interventional cardiologist at St Vincent’s, who could not be named because they were not authorised to speak publicly about the issue, said cardiac procedures were brought to a standstill and wait times for operations such as pacemaker surgery had “blown out” with dozens of patients facing weeks-long delays.

Ian Neil SC, a leading Australian employment and industrial law barrister, said the NSW government had not yet “been clear about what will happen” to health workers still unvaccinated by the end of the month.

COVID-19 cases were later identified in other parts of St Vincent’s, with at least two patients testing positive in the geriatric ward. Multiple procedures at the hospital, such as endoscopies, have also been delayed due to staff exposures.

I wonder what those unvaccinated  nurses are thinking now because of their thoughtless, selfish acts and are responsible for  many people having to wait for who knows how long. Unforgivable.

Agree Hola, imagine having a heart valve replacement due and then told to come back in 6 months.

Just because you are vaccinated it does not mean you do not pass on the Covid Virus

It is also possible the nurses caught the virus within St Vincents Hospital.

It is the the PM of NSW government that is shuffling covid patients from Hospital to hospital, even the private hospitals.

It is dangerous to go to a hospital for a procedure in NSW GLADYS GOLDEN STANDARD

Why are the Health care Workers not allowed to speak publicly about the situation ???

Frightening situation, I still can't understand why all health care workers are not vaccinated by now.

World’s largest log cabin.

Sequoia House, Ridgefield, Washington, USA, 1938. Built in 1905, burned down in 1960.

What an amazing and rather sad structure built in the days when anything went in regards to destroying the natural environment.

Ancient electrical wiring ignited Portland's legendary Forestry Building, a structure made of massive, flawless old-growth logs that had been built for the Lewis and Clark Exposition in 1905. It was an enormous structure, measuring 206 by 102 feet. A full million board feet of lumber went into it. After the 1905 exposition, the building was purchased by the city of Portland, which for many years let it decline and decay. It was nearly lost to fire several times when embers fell on the roof, either from nearby building fires or from wood-stove embers, but quick responses by the fire department kept it going.

In the 1940s, there was talk of actually demolishing the building, which by then had turned into a safety hazard; the balconies had been built with whole logs, which had warped, making them dangerous, and the whole building was like a banquet hall for wood-destroying organisms like bark beetles and termites. All of it went up in flames.

:) That's a scary face.

Love Currumbin, such a lovely local place here on the Gold Coast.

Toot - That's brilliant.  Some people have wonderful imaginations.

RnR - The last time I visited Currumbin would be about 45 years ago, I bet I wouldn't recognise the

place now.

Wonder how "free choice" the elections are in Russia.

Alex Murdaugh arriving at court in Varnville, South Carolina. He was granted bail to allow him to continue treatment for his opioid addiction

A prominent South Carolina lawyer has been arrested after he admitted trying to stage his own murder.  Alex Murdaugh, 53, gave himself up to police for allegedly ordering a hit on himself so his surviving son could collect a $10 million life insurance policy. He was charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and filing a false police report in connection with the scheme.

His life began to unravel after the murders of his wife Margaret, 52, and son Paul, 22, near their home.   He maintains he had no involvement in the fatal shootings, which remain unsolved.

Very strange case from what’s  I've read.

Yeah, just plant them in the garden as fertiliser.

The French Ambassador has accused Australia of deliberately keeping his country in the dark over a decision to scrap a $90 billion submarine contract.   In an interview with the ABC, Jean-Pierre Thebault said he only learned of the Morrison government's decision to tear up the contract with Naval Group through media reports.

There was no sign the French contract was in trouble and it is unclear how much it will cost us to scrap the contract.

Perhaps she was just checking for the crown jewels ?

Suze - I've seen that photo before and still can't help smiling.  My Scottish Grandfather said they never wore undies.

James Selby, a senior Rugby Australia executive has appeared in court after federal police seized a laptop and mobile phone allegedly containing videos of  beatiality and young children being sexually abused.

These disgusting parasites. They don't need a court case to find them guilty, they should be shipped off to Devis's Island  for the term of their natural life.

He didn't get bail so he's in the nick until November, the scumbag, I hope the fellas make him feel welcome.

Ugh, agree Hola and Toot.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Female employees in the Kabul city government have been told to stay home, with work only allowed for those who cannot be replaced by men, the interim mayor of Afghanistan’s capital said Sunday, detailing the latest restrictions on women by the new Taliban rulers.

Such a shame ... the Taliban seem to be reverting to their usual harsh practices.
